The_Next_Big_Thing
When you really look at it, we only have 2 safeties on the team, Madieu and KK. I don't count Herring or Ohaletusdown as being on the roster, and I doubt Marvin does either.

Isnt he versatile too???

Isnt he versatile too??? I saw a mock draft the other day with the Bengals taking Witner...Is Indiana Jones starting material or special team player? I work with a Rams fan and he says that AA isn't the same...I thought he was just mad because AA was a FA and we need a safety..
walshfan
I watched Witner play some this past season and he looks like a good player... How that translate into a starter in the NFL I dont know...Im not completely sold on him as I am about Allen or Ko Simpson at the safety spot.... ArmyBengal
Don't get me wrong, I am a strong advocate of drafting a Safety if not two, but am looking forward to see what Indiana Jones does in camp. The team was big on him last year. Just curious more than anything. Can he be worse than OhIsuckalote ?? If so, what the hell is he still doing here ??WHODEY !!! walshfan
Jones may blossom but do the Bengals chance it? What if he doenst and is no more than a ST player? Ohalete is possibly the worst safety they ever had starting so to compare anyone to him is not a good thing..

blueridge
A corner that would be a great fit seems to be Jason Allen... fast and has healed from his injury.... I still like the athleticism and all around play of a Ko Simpson though..He'd be a good pickup in the secondary.... How about Donte Witner too?Ko Simpson played last season as a red-shirt freshman. He's not ready for the NFL.

He's not ready for the NFL. He was actually a sophomore... Granted, he will have the inexperience issue you are alluding to, but I don't expect it to be a large problem for him.Simpson was a first-team, All-SEC selection at rover in 2005 after finishing as the leading tackler among the conference’s defensive backs. The 22-year-old Simpson is a sophomore, but eligible for the draft because he is at least 21 and has been out of high school for three years.Link

Spain
Hey you guys didnt here the hype? M Williams is like having afirst rounder. Prepare for a free agent signing and a second day pick. Which havent been that bad. They are happy with KK. He did a damn good job. Hard to believe. He has made the dime and long nickel packages. The D line or OG . Is what it looks to me. I bet we trade down.IMHO.

HairOnFire
Toldja. The Redskins are still 7 million over the salary cap, but the new CBA means they just got a get-out-of-jail-free card instead of being handed a past due bill. All of the sudden they're free agent players again, and if they really want Archuleta they'll outbid other teams without thinking twice. NJ29
On the Bengals.com front page, it says that Sage Rosenfels and Dexter Jackson have both visited. It got me thinking, what affect could this have on the offseason? If we signed Jackson, the safety position would be taken care of. We would need to take a safety for depth early on day 2, but that's about all. It would free us up to take a defensive tackle like Bunk or Watson, a corner like Joseph or Cromartie, or a defensive end like Kiwanuka in the first round. It could also allow us to take a tight end in round 2 or maybe even a guy like McClover. It completely opens up the offseason. I hope that Mikey and Marvin get it done. derekshank
Nope on the DT. We are taking a CB in the first round... at least that is what I'm hoping for. I don't want a 1st round DT. There is no one there that wouldn't be a reach... and DT's are often busts. I much rather take a DT later on the first day.If we don't take a CB, I hope it is because Tamba Hali dropped to us.
