Wraith
With the prevailing attitude being that Gabe Watson might very well fall to us at 24 what do you think of this double dip on the D-Line?Rd. 1: Gabe Watson, DT, MichiganRd. 2: Manny Lawson, DE, NC StateRd. 3: Bernard Polland, S, PurdueRd. 4: Mark Setterstrom, OG, MinnesotaRd. 5: Steve Fifita, DT, UtahYes, I know it seems quite a reach for Lawson to fall this far but he seems to be a man without a position right now. Football's Future has him as the #4 OLB, The Sporting News has him as the #6 DE, Great Blue North has him as the #4 DE with an OLB possibility and traditionally tweeners like this fall in the draft, this all being said I have seen Lawson everywhere from the third round to the top 15 in the first but what if he were to fall to us in the second? What do you think? He is 240 lbs BUT he is also 6'5" so IMHO he could seriously grow into his body, he has freakish quickness and could be the best overall D-Lineman in the draft. What do you think would you want him? Does he fit? Would you gamble on Watson? Is Polland good enough to come in and start as a third rd. selection? HoosierCat
FWIW Lawson appeared on the mock draft "big board" a couple weeks ago as a possible Bengals first round selection, dropped off last week, and just reappeared as a result of a mock updated today. But notably, none of the mocks that have gone on to the second round have named him, even tho there are three of them that select at the DE position (Jonathan Lewis, VaTech; Victor Adeyanju, Indiana; and Kamerion Wimbley, Florida). Jonathan Lewis is a very interesting DT prospect, not a DE.

HairOnFire
I stand corrected. Not a big deal, but Jonathan Lewis is a short, wide, surprisingly quick but probably not very fast interior player. I can't see any team, even one using a 3-4, trying him on the outside. NJ29
Gabe Watson - Fat, slow, and underacheiving. He'd be a waste of a first round pick.I wouldn't have a problem with the double dip on the D line however.
ArmyBengal
I'll take all the d-line help we can get, but don't see the 1st and 2nd being on the d-line. I could be wrong, but that is my guess...WHODEY !!!
TJJackson
While Big Gabe was plenty motivated at the Senior Bowl, I sorta can't look at that game by itself and overlook years of underachievement. At his best, hell yeah, I want him at 24 badly.I just don't think the NFL will get his best. Which is unfortunate.

As others here have said, he spends them on proven players and good citizens.
