  1. Rare good news from the Bengals I knew they had Browning for 2024 because he's some sort of restricted RFA, but I figured he'd be gone after 2024 not so :-) I am shocked that they got him to sign a TWO year deal :-) Among other things, this means we dont absolutely need to take a developmental QB in the draft, and that frees up a spot for a tertiary need like coverage linebacker or another OL. O U T S T A N D I N G
  2. With Trent Brown being injury prone and older, my expectations is that he will not last the entire 2024 season. And he's gone after 2024. Expect the best, but plan for the worst So the plan should be for the OT - hopefully specifically a RIGHT tackle - they absolutely need to draft at 18 or 49 will be the starter at ORT by the end of 2024 at the latest and of course, that player would then (optimally) be handed the starter spot at ORT in 2025, with the 1 year rental Trent Brown moving on As such, I dont want this new OT working at OG, and most especially not at OLG If all goes well, this player will be the backup (swing tackle) at both OLT and ORT, and the jumbo OL as well I can see them drafting up to three OL this year. In addition to the glaring need at ORT, they need a better backup C than No Knees Hill. Second, the Smith and Carman experiments are over and done with, as far as I am concerned. Third, we need depth and heirs apparent to Karras and Cappa I wont destroy appliances or set any local stadiums on fire if the first pick is a pass rushing DT, but if that is the case, 49 then becomes a pick that M U S T be an ORT
  3. But.......we brought in Mixon's replacement in FA net change in rostered RBs is zero regarding a WR early - do you think they have no trust in one of Sizzle or Yoh breaking out as WR3? I mean, the theoretical day 2 WR will be no better than WR3 as things stand in 2024, plus they need to toss some balls in Gesickis direction too
  4. I gave reasons above :-) However, now that I see that Amphar is thumbs down on Mims, I will have to rethink my position
  5. Indeed, WR at 18 is a HUGE no-no, Give Chuck Sizzle and YOH SEE VOSS a chance at WR3. Pretty much my home appliances need the pick to be a DT or a ORT not named Mims. I like everything about Mims except his lack of durability and resulting lack of experience 2nd round pick needs to be another Lineman or a 3down TE (if such a being exists) Id be OK with another receiver no earlier than r4. High RAS type. For some reason a lot of mocks are going RB on day 2. I don't see any need for a RB at all in this draft.
  6. Latest Mel mock has us getting Johnny Newton as our S E C O N D round pick at 49 wtf?
  7. It's so odd that Simpson was never able to find the real killer(s) I mean, he searched every golf course in America for them, with no luck whatsoever
  8. Dont want Mims at all in any round Frequently injured which has in turn led to lack of experience. Best ability is availability If he were to somehow fall to round 5 or so due to no team wanting such an injury prone player, then sure, take a flyer I dont like Guyton for pretty much the same reason. Gimme a guy who is available every week
  9. Love the first pick get a TE sooner get a developmental QB by round 5 2 DTs are sufficient, and both need to be NT/2I types
  10. Hoosier, you need to stay in Indiana to resolve all of these mysteries 10 Indiana Cryptids: Appearance, Behavior, and Location (msn.com)
  11. no fuel pumps at the great wall of Mt Washington
  12. Joisey, you probably dont know this, given that you live in Indiana, but property taxes in Hamilton county went up this year by 50 to 75%. Some folks are having to sell their houses and move elsewhere. so the aforementioned taxpayers are already being drained dry by the County
  13. the turf they are putting in results in more player injuries than grass
  14. I am not likely ever going to be a fan the Trent Brown signing, but the much lower than expected cost takes a good deal of the sting out, as well as the fact that about a quarter of it is in per game availability bonuses. They should always have an availability bonus in contracts for injury-prone players. Player gets injured, silver lining is the cap money to be rolled over goes up That said, I hope he is healthy and productive all year. I'd like to see Burrow get good protection, finally......
  15. Dont need a RB or WR Need a developmental QB take the TE one round earlier Need a second DT
  16. cant give up on drafting OLs got to keep improving the process Volsen is a hit as far as I am concerned. He's had some bumps along the way, but he is a solid starter from a 4th round pick
  17. He's kind of a bad quarterback. so is this really actually bad?
  18. I'd like to see them pick up a 3 down TE someday The first two named above are "move" or receiving TEs The third is an "inline" or blocking TE......this remains true despite his "CrazyLegs" reception last season that surely should have earned him a pro bowl vote or two :-) Barring trades, I want to see the Bengals use one of their two third round picks on a TE who is good at both blocking and receiving. I guy who can chip the DE before releasing for a short to medium pass. I've wanted that guy for many, many years Does that guy exist at (roughly) pick range 65 through 105?
  19. and a pair of sevens?
  20. I want no part of Becton, even for vet min. Period. If we do unfortunately sign him, I pray to god that any money above vet min is conditioned on playing time - like a bonus for each game where he is active on game day. Incentives to stay healthy. And other quality of play incentives, like games without a penalty and coach grading above a certain number Tart is a maybe. He's a good player but there are SERIOUS maturity issues with him that absolutely cannot be allowed to harm team chemistry. Our vet DLs are gonna have to tell him to shut up and work, and enforce that continuously. And even then, I dont want to see more than 4M/Y spent on him. 4M is on the high side, as I see it. This guy needs a carrot to reach for, so incentives not guarantees. Re-sign Tupou, who honestly isnt too bad, and spend a r2 pick on the best remaining DT.
