  1. I have no idea why McKinnon wasn't on their radar last year and not this year. He's a good pass protecting back. A lot faster than Zeke and completely capable of producing more than Mixon/Perine receiving totals. Cap hit of $1m last year. Still available. Age would be a factor, I guess.
  2. Zeke's weight gain is an issue. If he produces like last year he's a downgrade from Perine. You get in shape Zeke of previous years then its a clear upgrade. He clearly lost favor to Pollard in the passing game this past season. He caught 91 yards last year and a 1/3 of that was 1 play. Bengals would need to comfortable this guy hasn't lost a step or decided to eat his way out of the league and could handle churning out receiving yards. Smells like an incentive deal would be best but would he take that from Bengals considering Jerry Jones loves him and is hinting about signing him back?
  3. Rhodes is so far off the radar its hard to find anything about him. He's been on the move committed to South Carolina, transferred to Ole Miss then transferred to Ark State.
  4. Blindsided is funny. If that's not Jonah's thoughts he should lighting up whoever chose those words. He was drafted out of Alabama, first round. First OTA his competition (Cordy Glenn) uh, you're now Left Guard. He knows how this shit works. Saban wasn't informing him about every 5 star tackle he was visiting when being recruited and after committing. Come on, any athlete good enough to make it to the pros has been beating out competition since 9 years old or younger. They all know someone eventually comes for their spot. Every damn year 300/400 new college athletes make training camps and they haven't expanded team in years and roster numbers don't expand to match the new rookies.
  5. Key for Irv Smith, any additional TE, any Perine replacement and any Mixon replacement. Can they get open underneath, catch and turn up field and get to the sticks? Then out of this group you need a TE and RB you can count on in pass protection. IMO, that's the most important qualities these players need to have. Teams aren't going to stop defending Burrow/Chase/Higgins with a strategy of 2 deep and rush 4. The addition of Brown will certainly force teams to be more creative in rushing, IMO. The Bengals will always give up pressures at higher than normal rate because they have an athletic extending play QB. Brown will let them slide protection away and have a higher degree of confidence that the DE isn't going to set the LT in their lap. Get a better protecting RT and it should be a bigger problem for defenses because then you can slide protection either way and have a higher degree the "man side" will hold up for longer. Jonah Williams would be a better protecting RT over Collins/Adeniji/Prince. I'd have to guess with all the problem the right side has had the past two years, I would think they slid protection away from Williams more times than they slid toward him.
  6. Who cares? Stay healthy, play decent RT and get paid. I understand William's side if he can get to another team via trade before the draft he can reasonably try to beat the $12m he's scheduled to make. This is the same crap the Bengals some how mistreated Dalton because they didn't call before he was offered in a trade or something. Who fucking cares? Cash your check and STFU.
  7. Reasonable for sure. I still don't think they take RT that early. Laporta and Moss are great picks, IMO.
  8. Irv is an athlete just can't get or stay on the field. His age doesn't matter to me because hopefully he'll have his career year and then price himself out of the Bengals range. You get CJ's 800 snaps out of Irv Smith then ole Irv will probably have a career year. If you get Hurst's 545 snaps out of Irv, then he'll probably have a career year. I still think they'll draft a TE in the range that would seem reasonable to contribute as a rookie: 1. Irv has not proven he's reliable to stay on the field 2. Still have a TE spot open and even if they resign Sample or whoever back that probably just bumps the roster bubble guys. 3. They'll have 2 TE spots open in 2024 IF they don't draft one 4. Draft class has good TEs
  9. Kelce on Brown joining the Bengals via Cincy Jungle
  10. according to Zierlein 1) CB 2) TE 3) Edge Defender Strongest position groups.
  11. I'd like to have Sample back. Is that a done deal?
  12. Interesting on Forbes. NFL.com mocks have him second round. Mel just mocked 16 overall to Washington. Tannenbaum obviously 1st to the Bengals. Which group has the best sources? Forbes might be to light for the Bengals as they like run support corners. He is an athlete for sure. If you land him and eventually pair with CTB that's an athletic pair. The Reuter 4 round mock Bengals passing of Forbes to take Miami CB, mocks Forbes at 61.
  13. I would rather Hurst but Smith IF he gets the snaps can probably match the production they've seen the last 2 years with CJ and Hurst.
  14. I like the fact the last two signings are former top 150 draft picks. If both can get and stay on the field it will be a big help. A vet RB really frees up the draft board. Would still like to see either Apple or Flowers return before the draft. I still think Williams will be moved prior to the draft or at least hope so. Hopefully that produces another top 150 draft pick or player.
  15. Hopefully they get Apple type results because this one is clearly "trust in Lou". I still hope Apple is back along with Flowers and maybe some CB draft pick.
  16. Trust in Lou type signing. Hopefully there's more CBs coming. Love the fact he is former 2nd rounder. first he's in and out of line ups and now he's on and off of rosters.
  17. I think Lamar tanked last season. I think that and him giving vibes out that he wants to reinvent himself away from the running game/ running Qb would give teams a bit of heart burn trading typical draft capital and huge QB deal for him. If a team is trading for Lamar Jackson they want the one from his MVP year, not one that's going to try to prove to the world he's a drop back passer. He's never been that and probably never will be. He probably is costing himself some $$$ and certainly screwing Baltimore. Which is fine with me. Trade him to AFC West, so maybe one of those teams can hang a loss on the Chiefs.
  18. Williams won't pull a Glenn. If push comes to shove he'll collect his $12m and play RT. There's a pile of money bags awaiting him if he can stay healthy and play just average RT football. Then he can address his LT over anything else desires during his FA tour.
  19. Lamar indicates he issued a trade request to Baltimore.
  20. Orlando Brown Good. Chiefs bad. Removing Lamar Jackson news over to other more appropriate thread.
  21. Reuter 4 round mock 1. Darnell Wright OT Tenn - love the player. Don't think they are going OT this early. There are some nice prospects that go after. 2. Tyrique Stevens - CB Miami. Love the position. Still some good names going afterward 3. Zack Kuntz - TE ODU - As it stands they'll need a TE in this draft 4. Eric Gray - RB OK - As it stands they'll need at RB
  22. That would be an A+ haul. I don't think the Bengals would try to convert Mazi. With out knowing what else is on the board, I would take these 3 picks. Although they are getting Mazi about 10 spots later than most projections and LaPorta about 40 spots later.
  23. Ken Francis? From Funky Finger Productions? Mo' Money Mo' Money Mo' Money
  24. I think they need a vet for the Perine role. He played 3rd downs and 2 minute drills over Mixon. I just don't see them getting comfortable with a rookie from any round taking on the pass blocking duties/hot route assignments in those situations based on any college film. If you add a decent vet like Zeke in the Perine role. Then they can realistically entertain replacing Mixon's cap hit. If you look at the highlights/stats of Hurst, Mixon, Perine. Defenses are not going to stop defending Chase/Higgins/Burrow with 2 deep rush 4. They need players that can simply take a underneath pass and get up field. 2 of those players that did it great last year are gone and the 3rd everyone seemingly wants to get rid of. Then they have secondary depth/experience. At the end of the day. Great team with a couple medium to small holes to fix before the draft.
  25. I think they'll add vet RB at some point. There's a whole lot of local media speculation/assumption that Mixon is toast. Fine. To make that happen you need a decent replacement for Perine. Both can't be rookies, IMO. They should be adding McKinnon, IMO. He seems taylor made for what they need. Can pass block. Can catch out of the backfield. Probably older than what they want but I'd assume his price range is what they want. He'd be under $3m It would remove 10 TDs and 700 yards from the Chiefs backfield too.
