  1. Counterpoint to the rejoinder - reaching IS usually their bag and NOT reaching is something new. I would submit the positive value they had for their picks compared to consensus big boards all over the draft is evidence of that. And, while we are here, do you all know how many catches for how many yards and TDs the ENTIRE TE room had for us in 2022? ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... 73 catches 556 yards 3 td That's it. That. Is. It. Do you seriously think that Smith/Sample/Asiasi/Wilcox or other vet cannot replicate that? Or, you wanted them to be more dynamic at TE and reach for a player, I guess you are advocating to take targets away from the big 3? Just not sure we as a fanbase had this read right - and I don't fault the bengals for how they played their board and made their picks.
  2. At IOL, a name many of us have probably forgotten but I remain curious about - Ben Brown - from last year's UDFA class -
  3. Carman 100% ahead of Adeniji right now per the bengals. It's up to Carman to take better advantage of that opportunity than he did last August at LG...
  4. I think it is partially that Williams is not at voluntaries and his still re-habbing from his surgery...so Carman first up because...he's next up. That said, it's a real opportunity for him.
  5. Morgan’s potential doom came with the arrival of Battle, a special teams ace in addition to being an outstanding safety at Bama… simmons already talking excitedly about Battle’s arrival.
  6. He had quite a bit of sleeper buzz all through the draft process. The bengals had him in for a top 30 visit and kept him here for two days. He was absolutely on my radar and was widely expected to go in rounds 4 or 5. Not surprising to me that they grabbed him there late in round 6 since he was still around.
  7. Not for nothing, there's likely to be cuts in August of a lot of vet TEs that they can likely scoop up then if they want more depth. all for that.
  8. Smith/Sample/AsiAsi/Wilcox or a vet TE as 4th TE. That's the plan. You all may not like it but the Bengals are clearly more than OK with it. And IF they were not, they would have drafted a fucking TE. Not drafted a world class athlete who has played WR for three years and tell him to fatten the fuck up and learn a whole new position he has never played.
  9. I am done with this conversation. You cannot seriously read ANY quotes from Troy Walters or any of the team’s coaches and think that they have any doubt about him as WR. For fuckssake.
  10. They keep 7 receivers and he’s absolutely one of them. chase higgins boyd jones princeton guy irwin/Taylor/Morgan fighting for last two spots. if they keep only six, those three are fighting for one spot.
  11. The bengals 100% disagree with you on their TE situation. They are all-in on Smith.
  12. They do keep 7 sometimes. They did last year.
  13. The need for high level backups in this offense at WR is acute. Hopefully in a year he’s able to start to fulfill that.
  14. Why are you all trying to take a world class athlete and add 30 pounds?
  15. No. He’s 205. He’s here to backup Higgins and chase.
  16. He probably could. When I tried yoga, no one needed to see that from me… yoga is frickin’ hard.
  17. A little more on Carman-
  18. It's not terrible news, for sure, if Carman has really finally bought into fitness and work on his craft. Better late than never. He still has the requisite size and he's still just 23... Not holding my breath but will cross some fingers.
  19. Yes, 100% even happier with this pick when that news dropped. The depth at edge with Ossai shelved until August and then some uncertainty until he actually returns would have been...not optimal.
  20. Hobs' notes on the Brown pick:
  21. Hobs' notes on Jones pick:
  22. Hobs' notes on Battle pick:
  23. This is interesting stuff on the pick from Hobs (some bengals connections too)
