Siaki Ika? My understanding is that he was a total bust but may as well kick the tires. I guess.

13 Reasons Why You Should Be Excited About The 2024 Bengals
HoosierCat replied to jonesbengal18's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
Always appreciate the enthusiasm! I think this is best done as a single thread versus 13 separate posts, tho. Looking forward to the next entry. -
Attention COB, attention COB, John Ross has been cut in Philadelphia, will be available this weekend for hedge-trimming duties.
-
Apparently he’s a taxi squad priority so we’ll all have the chance to not get to know him a lot more!

In lighter news, the factory of sadness up north is reportedly looking to trade both Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley before 4 today. Who exactly will start week 1 isn’t clear as Thompson-Robinson got the primary nod in preseason and Jizzy D Watson (shoulder) was only cleared for contact a week or two ago.
-
LB Shaka Heyward, DT Travis Bell, OL Trey Hill all reportedly out.
-
Malik Jefferson got cut in Detroit today. Was on IR so not even sure he’s healthy.
-
Here’s another blast from drafts past: Chargers cut Alex Leatherwood. Another alleged stud turned dud.
-
According to nfl.com the Bengals have cut S PJ Jules. Whoever that is.

Another former Bengal cut, Tre Flowers, down in Jax. No particular interest, we are overstocked at DB, but figured I would toss it in here. Also a report floating around that Njongmeta has made it through the initial cutdown to 53: https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/news/report-cincinnati-bengals-preseason-standout-maema-njongmeta-makes-initial-53-man-roster-01j6a08xckky

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/08/27/nfl-private-equity-ownership-vote.html It will be interesting to see if Mike is willing to sell a piece of the team.

Perine would be an upgrade over Trayveon but I’m not trading for him.

The Enquirer reminds me of the rule change this year. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/nfl/bengals/2024/08/26/what-to-know-about-bengals-key-decisions-before-roster-cutdown/74953637007/

Lee is a pure center. That’s why he was there so late. Teams usually want their backup C to be G or OT too. At this point I don’t think they can risk trying to get him on the PS.

Your guess is as good as mine.

Well, back when all this started it was, he’s waiting for JJ to sign and set the market, and he did, so at least to me it’s no surprise that a JJ-level deal is what he wants. And I think we all knew that whatever JJ’s deal turned out to be, it was going to be a rhymes-with-witch to push through the front office because it would require them to break their self-imposed rule about guaranteed money beyond year 1. And and, this was all bubbling up a year before an extension would normally be done. I don’t know what they’re going to do. I suspect the FO very much wants to wait until 2025, and since it doesn’t look like Chase is actually going to hold out, they probably don’t do a deal this year. But that’s just a guess.

And welcome to the final game of the preseason, aka the Scrub Bowl. I don't anticipate much interest, but here's a thread anyhow.

Good breakdown here on Chase’s reported demands. Bottom line, it’s perfectly doable and not unreasonable. https://atozsports.com/nfl/cincinnati-bengals-news/jamarr-chase-contract-request-report-justin-jefferson/

Well, remember this some guy on bookface, tho a similar narrative is coming from the Rapien/Egger end of the media. Joe himself has insisted he’s fine. I think we all expected the wrist to require some level of management, we will just have to see how it goes.
