  1. D breakdown.
  2. Look, I had to get your attention, I know it’s leaf/gutter season and you got a whole squad of ex-Bengals to manage. So drastic times, drastic measures. BUT I can’t say how much I admire your response. Telling Haslam to MOVE THE TEAM three days before the game was genius! I didn’t think it was possible to top Watson as a distraction but boy was I wrong. great job!
  3. If so, sign it, probably still an upgrade.
  4. Yeah, I saw that today. Lol. Unfortunately for them the first time resulted it Modell’s Law, which among other things would force ownership to put the team up for sale to local buyers (including the city and area residents) for six months ahead of any move. Pass the popcorn.
  5. As far as cost, right now I would say you would be looking at a range of between $1 billion (the inflation-adjusted costs of Lucas Oil) and $2.4 billion (the estimated cost of the facility the Browns proposed building in Brook Park in August). Note that doesn't include Paycor demo costs. And again, that's right now. You have to figure it would take a couple years to plan, design, get financing etc., and a couple more years to build, so those costs will rise. I wouldn't expect it to get done for less than $1.5 billion and honestly they'd probably be lucky to hold it below $2 billion. Given that the Bengals and the county can't settle on how much each side will pay for the $700 million-ish package of upgrades currently on the table, a sum two or three times that amount is a non-starter, imo.
  6. Yeah, it would have to be a whole new facility, the cost of which I suspect is why the Bengals are so resistant to the idea whenever it's raised. They don't want to pay and/or assume debt on the level it would take to build a dome, even with increased public funding.
  7. Looking about as healthy as they’ve been all year. https://www.bengals.com/news/week-7-injury-report-bengals-at-browns
  8. I think the easiest answer is that they’re playing him because they’re paying him a bajillion dollars and don’t want to admit they were wrong. That said I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if they are thinking along those lines. Even if they don’t expect anything to happen, no reason to provide any kind of excuses in case something does.
  9. Goodberry broke down the offense and its struggles against NY. tl;dw After five weeks they’ve gotten predictable and the giants were ready for a lot of their regular tricks. So it’s up to our alleged offensive brain trust of Zac and Dan to mix things up. Also personal to OBj: you gotta work on that tell there buddy.
  10. Bengals hauled Raymond Johnson III off his couch again. https://www.bengals.com/news/de-raymond-johnson-iii-signed-bengals-roster-update
  11. A dome has always made far more sense than an open-air field in Cincy, but Mike & Co. have always opposed the idea. If they go that route, I would expect something more like Lucas Oil in Indy versus, say, SoFi.
  12. Lotsa news today. Just out:next week’s game against Philly has been moved to 1 pm. Bears/Commanders getting the 4:25 slot instead.
  13. Well, looks like we won’t have to worry about Cooper. Fire sale has begun up north. https://www.cincyjungle.com/2024/10/15/24271007/amari-cooper-trade-buffalo-bills-cleveland-browns
  14. Didn’t I tell you to stop listening to that hobo out back of the Cheesecake Factory?
  15. After the Hutchinson injury, Lions are poaching our PS for DE Isaiah Thomas.
  16. Good Tanier column from last week on the hell that is the Browns. https://open.substack.com/pub/miketanier/p/tankwatch-cleveland-browns?r=ez0o&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
  17. So apparently the Bengals opened as 4.5 point favorites. Note that they haven’t won in Cleveland since 2017. Cleveland is really bad this year so hopefully they can break that streak.
  18. While the DL was certainly better last night, I think the defense overall mostly benefited from who they faced. Jones isn’t a standout QB and was missing his best receiver and his starting RB. And there were still guys wide open in the secondary, Jones just missed them most of the time. There were some legit great plays too, I don’t want to sound too dismissive, but imo this d still needs a ton of work.
  19. AND SO I WAKE IN THE MORNING AND I STEP OUTSIDE AND I TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND I GET REAL HIGH AND I SCREAM FROM THE TOP OF MY LUNGS WHATS GOING ON?
  20. I just want to leave this here for the folks who wonder why we don’t always let Joe throw. (And yeah also fuck YouTube).
  21. They are just good enough to not make the playoffs AND get the lowest possible draft pick for a non-playoff team…just like last year.
  22. Yup. Take the W, get on the plane and hope you get out of town before some on throws a flag.
  23. Huge game for the line on d. Need that to keep going to deal with an iffy backfield
  24. Chase Brown is a golden god and I wish he was my dad
