My take… When the decision was made to cancel the Bills Bengals game. Everyone should just deal with the fall out of that decision. Bengals have no shot at the #1 seed that they would have, they are division champs with a home game commensurate with that, and everyone else falls into place as a result of the initial decision. Everyone gets screwed one way or another, but this really feels like punishment for the Bengals.

Now see there is just as much unfair in that as anything else, for those wanting to continue being pissed. From the Bengals perspective and since they aren’t playing the Bills Bengals game, the Bengals are AFC North champions. They have earned the home field advantage being a division champ. Now that could be removed and decided by a coin toss. Agree or disagree, my point is that no matter what they decide, someone is going to get hosed. In this instance not only do the Bengals now have no chance at the 1 seed, they could now lose home field advantage for a wild card game.

To be clear, no one here has been bitching about seedings. I was referring to comment sections in other sites like PFT, etc… It’s also not to say I wouldn’t rather be playing for a shot at the 1 seed this Sunday, although we are still playing for the #2 which of course I would prefer. But to go so far as to make stupid claims that teams were cheated and other such nonsense is beyond ridiculous.

Getting sick of people bitching about the potential seedings and how unfair it is. Well boo fucking hoo !! What’s unfair is a young man almost dying and not knowing if he will ever be able to play the game again. Unfair is what his family just went through. Those coaches and players as well. Seedings ?? Fuck off !!

Dude, reading that gave me chills thinking about the weight that has been lifted off of so many people thinking of and praying for him. True happiness hearing that news. Keep up the healing Damar !!!

As much as I love the draft, this year more than most is going to be challenging until you see what they do in free agency (both internally and externally). I would guess TE would be high on the draft list, unless they are able to sign Hurst back. If that's the case, TE falls down the priority list. That's just one of many examples. Then there will be extensions to hand out as well. Where's the money going and how does it limit other areas? We will see.

Are they ready? Are they going to hesitant? Are there other concerns we aren’t aware of? To be honest, none of it matters. They are playing at 1pm Sunday. Do your best and see what happens. Again, if they aren’t concerned about 2 or 3, then don’t play your starters and give them the extra time.

Speaking of Coach Taylor's press conference, let me just say how great it is to have him as the coach of this team. You can see how good of a person he is and how his leadership has really impacted the players and this organization. It's nice to be able to say you are proud to be a fan of your team.

I have no concerns either way honestly. Just trying to share what I see. If it's a non game, the upcoming games have next to no bearing.

Not that it's the be all, end all concerning this conversation, but the ESPN Playoff Machine is currently treating the week 17 Bengals/Bills game like it didn't happen. I would think the NFL would be reluctant to go in that direction or at least announcing they are going in that direction due to one fact. The games for the Chiefs, Bengals and Bills would have very little meaning. Those 3 teams are locked into those seeds, with only a little jockeying between them possible. The Bengals would have no path to the #1 seed, only #2 at best. They could play nothing but practice squad guys, lose by 50 and do no worse than #3. It really makes me wonder how the NFL is going to handle this. The Chiefs and Raiders play on Saturday, with the Bengals game and Bills games going on Sunday. If KC wins, no matter what happens in the Bengals/Ravens or the Bills/Patriots games it will be Chiefs, Bills, Bengals in that seeding order.

A lot of speculation that no one can confirm with any certainty. Another account has Zac Taylor going across to meet the Bills coach and telling him there’s no way we continue this game. Does that equate a forfeit on the part of the Bengals ?? I’m in sit and wait mode…

It’s just not that hard to move on to week 18, play the games, and see what happens before deciding what to do with yesterday’s game.

My thing is still to play out week 18 and see how it shakes out. There’s a very large chance there will be no reason to consider the outcome of yesterday’s game. Why force any one particular decision now when it probably won’t make a difference in another 5 days ?? That has nothing to do with feelings, being silly or anything else INCLUDING business as usual, which this is clearly NOT. Not worried about it Shula. All good. Just discussing.

These guys aren’t Soldiers. While people like to say they the highest trained people in the world, that’s simply not the case. They aren’t taught to compartmentalize things of this nature and continue executing at a high level. We have no idea where most of them come from or how their life experiences will bear on this instance.

Anyone saying the Bengals had so much more of a chance to win a game against the current #1 seed, when up 7-3 after only 9 minutes had been played is silly. If that’s the best argument they have at the moment (don’t think it is) don’t fucking do that.

I went back and took a look again. If KC should lose to the Raiders and we call the Bengals Bills game from this week a tie, the Bills would get the #1 seed. Personally, that seems pretty fair all things considered, but that's just me. Want to face them again and beat them? Do what you were going to have to do to get that shot anyway?

That's my take as well. Seeding will probably not mean as much to the Bills and Bengals after what transpired last night, God forbid Hamlin doesn't make it. Yes, If KC were to lose to the Raiders, playing the game could have consequences, but I'm willing to bet the players won't care that much. The NFL on the other hand is a completely different question. Hope they keep doing the right thing here. On a side note, I was really proud of the Cincinnati fans last night at the game. I was expecting some Tomfuckery after the game was called, but if there was any, I didn't see or hear it. What I saw was respect and class. Good for all involved.

Let week 18 play out and see what the fallout is. Right now, without the game being counted, the Bills are the #2 seed and the Bengals the #3, hosting the Patriots and Ravens respectively. If the Bills and Bengals both win in week 18, there is no other AFC game which will impact them remaining the #2 and #3 seeds. That being the case, they could call the game from yesterday a tie and move on completely.

I was an Army Medic. Paramedic for nearly 20 years. I taught trauma medicine and ran the US Army EMS office nationally. That being said, I haven't done any medicine for nearly 12 years. I don't put my hands on people any more. Thanks Afghanistan !! While it is still a passion of mine and I do keep up with the latest, I don't usually speak about it outside of family. I can tell you I was 1 of maybe 5 people at the concession stand when it happened. I really wanted a Coke. I watched on the closed circuit TVs they have out there and thought he simply fainted. There was very little to be taken away from what looked like a very typical football play. Just crazy...

Never mind, I'm just rambling... Sit and watch mode.
