ProFootballTalk.com - THE REAL STORY

For all I know this has already been discussed over the past week, but I couldn't find any reference to it on this site so I thought I'd go ahead and post it. Based on what I found, I think it's pretty clear that Florio is not just some objective gossip-hawking whore, but rather a Steeler homer gossip-hawking whore. I hope this little turd had fun screwing with the Cincinnati media this week because he certainly revealved thier ineptitude in covering their own team. Chasing a story they found by reading these message boards and an online rumor mill, Curnutte, Ludwig, and friends have been and continue to be unable to find a single Bengals player or coach willing to talk with them about the events during halftime of last week's game. Way to go Cincy media. Maybe next time you can just wait for Bill Cowher to call you with a "hot lead" on what happened in the Bengals locker room.

Bengal fans, decide for yourselves....

Preview of Colts-Steelers

First, the early game. Pittsburgh at Indianapolis.

It pains us to pick against the Steelers. We like the team. We love Jerome Bettis. He deserves a ring more than anyone else who has never won one, including the 'Burgh's own Dan Marino.

But the Colts are the best team in the league this year. Period. And with the Patriots out of the way (thanks to Indy's biatches from Colorado), the path to Detroit is paved, lined, and well-lighted.

Colts win, 31-17.

And this time we hope we're wrong.

Why are you attacking profootballtalk.com, all they did was yet again prove that they have credibility by breaking the news that something went down at halftime in the bengals playoff game...

And getting it COMPLETELY wrong. Hey, Bruschi and some other Pat were having a major disagreement on the sidelines in Denver, Bruschi should be CUT, right? What an ass!

Look, if there were emotions at halftime, that's all they were. And I would expect that, hell its an emotional game. It matters because Florio created a f**king nightmare out of nothing, and there, will, of course, be no consequence for his muck-raking. And a whole bunch of people in here should be ashamed of themselves for repeating that s**t like it was gospel.

John Thornton and his agent are the ones who let this out, from what I have heard...

Something went down at halftime, enough for players to be uneasy when asked about it (aka mitchell and whoever else he was on with on 700wlw), and for Marvin Lewis to admit that chad "got a little emotional" at halftime, moreso than what is "normal"...

In getting the looks off NFLN's Game of the Week a few times now, there's nothing shown in their inside looks on the sideline that gives any notice of some halftime drama being of such great import. Whatever it was did not look like it had any consequence on how the Bengals went about the 2nd half. That boiled down to one QB not able to execute and another QB being able to.

Whether the "incident" or "rumor" was a ruse or not of some pro-Steelers media personality -- "Steeler homer gossip-hawking whore" -- seems as irrelevant to me now one week after the Bengals playoff defeat in the team's first shot at it in 15 years as the potential gullibility of the Cincy media -- including the team website.

Would it were Thornton who let this one out  Maybe it was payback for the Corey Simon endorsement by Marvin and Palmer.

I frequent the that site often cause it's funny and I'm telling you guys, he is right most of the time. And when he's wrong, he's posts up there that he was wrong.

I'm not saying anything happened at halftime with Chad (I think something did, BTW) But I'm betting this guy has more "sources" and knowledge about it than we do.

I can`t see how the fact he is a Steelers fan,

why that would lead him to blow something about

the Bengals out of proportion.

A minor incident turned into "putting a coach in a head-lock,

and throwing a punch at Marvin Lewis."

Yeah that`s pretty damn accurate reporting right there...

Oh and I posted this stuff on a few other boards JungleTime.

I gave you credit by the way...

You guys have no idea what really happened and never will - someone told this guy - a player I presume - that the physical altercation occurred.

Do you really think Marvin is going to admit that to the league and the public if it happened behind closed doors?

I know pretty much what happened.

I knew what really happened before that article

where "Marvin set the record straight"

was even printed.

I`ve been trying to tell everyone that it was nothing.

Just like Chad said it was nothing. Just like Marvin

confirmed that it was nothing yesterday.

Chad Johnson had just found out how bad Carson`s

injury REALLY was. He was trying to get the team

fired up and telling them to get on his back. That

they all needed to step up now. Hue Jackson said

something to Chad about a play that Chad thought

was a running play...and words were exchanged.

There were no "punches" ...no "head-locks".

Just some words.

Fact is if the Bengals would have beat the Steelers...

this would have been a complete and total non-issue.

I don't particuliarly care if it happened or not at this point in time. For anyone wanting to attribute what "MIGHT OF HAPPENED" during halftime of that game as to the outcome needs to g back and watch that 2nd half again. Defense wins games I believe many attest to on this site and if that is in fact what you hold dear, then you need look no further than right there and let us not forget Kitna. Problem is people don't want to give Kitna any crap due to the fact he sat on the sidelines most of the season and hasn't gotten the reps. BLAH BLAH BLAH, if everyone else is suppose to step up when someone goes down, why are we making excuses for Kitna ?? I'm done with his "mentoring" of Carson. I know Carson wants him back, but I still can't see if there is a bigger picture...

WHODEY !!!
