skyline
The transmission on my old car went out, and the repair costs were outrageous, so we bit the bullet and went with something new and reliable. Ended up deciding on an 06 Civic LX Manual (black). It's my first car purchase, so it was pretty exciting for me. Some pics.It was nearly impossible to get one. They're pretty popular, and of course manuals are always harder to find. The car is coming in from about 250 miles away, so I won't be picking it up until tomorrow. Ended up doing all the negotiating via e-mail, which is definitely the way to go. I'll never walk into a dealership again. I had 8 different dealerships e-mailing me offers. All I had to do was take the lowest offer, and e-mail everyone else asking if they could beat the price. Then you get to sit back and watch all the e-mails come in as the dealers scramble to make you a better offer. Good times
bengalindian
Nice. Congrats. That car will last you forever.I have a 99 Infiniti G20T, and got it for about 4,000 under Blue Book value at this 9999 and under place in Anderson. Great deal for a college kid. I drive the Honda most of the time. Mainly because I leased the Monte, something I'll NEVER do again.honda is the way to go
ArmyBengal
Had a 2002 Civic EX I loved, but traded it in for a new Tucson for my wife. They gave me 9,000.00 for the Civic, I was impressed. The new Tucson is great, rides like a dream and the warranty is unmatched. Still have a 98 Accord with 125,000 on it and it runs like a champ. Congrats on the new car. Everything online huh ? Sounds pretty cool...WHODEY !!!
skyline
I'm inteested in the negotiating. So you did everything online? That is awsome, first I've really heard about it. I am going to e buying a new car here shortly - maybe I hould do the same??No doubt you should do the same. Most dealers have Internet Managers that do nothing but e-mail sales. You get about 8 different dealers (even those 50-100 miles away from you) and request a quote on whatever you're looking for. They all e-mail you back with their offers. Take the best one, and e-mail everyone else saying "This is the best offer I've gotten...can you beat it?", and then just watch all the e-mails come flying in. This way they can't pressure you into any on the spot decisions that you'll regret later. You negotiate the final out-the-door price online, and then just show up to sign the papers, give them a check, and drive off into the sunset
redsfan2
Congratulations Sky. Nothing in the world like the smell of a new car ......... You just want to sit in it for hours. Makes you want to go everywhere .... and then you think about the miles you're puttin on it. Civics are one of my favorite cars ...... they look good, they're roomy inside, and they have a good combination of being quick enough and at the same time good on gas. My daughter loved hers and it was " older " when she got it. Totalled out when she hit a GMC Yukon .... but she didn't even get a bruise.Great selection ! not while driving tho
skyline
Just got it home from the dealer. MAN, I love this car! They had it in the show room when we got there since it was the only one they had on the lot (they're hard to get around here). After the purchase, they opened the doors and let me drive it straight out of the building and onto the street. It was quite a triumphant moment, indeed

NJ29
Yeah, that thing isn't driveable without Bengals license plates and a tiger stripe paint job... Plus with the tiger striped paint job, girls in high heels and blue wigs will come up to your door and give you money out of their bras.
