smith288 Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 People don't just make rumors up for nothing.Besides maybe generating hits to your ad-laden web site? I guarantee the author of that website saw a huge spike in his ad income. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Well it just came out today and it's IN the local news (see above) - i'm sure ESPN will pick it up eventually. The Bengals' are not denying it nor confirming it per the usual - but that alone is enough to tell me something happened. If you don't think CJ taking a swing at Marvin and putting his WR coach in a headlock isn't a big deal - not sure what you're smoking. The NFL suspends people for that - but i'm sure it's up to the coaches to confirm or report it to the league if they want to or not, since it wasn't on camera.Frankly it pisses me off he would do this at halftime of a playoff game of all things - not sure how people can pass this kind of behavior off so easily. And I don't see why someone would make up this level of detail either for the hell of it.They were winning, their franchise QB just got his knee torn up, along with their #3 WR - and Chad is fighting with coaches over his # of pass attempts thrown his way?I hope Thorton and others put Chad in his place - because that is bush, and intolerable to me.Can only keep excusing him for so long. Even TO wasn't worth that kind of garbage...but Chad gets a free pass from the homers as always - give me a break. Quote
walzav29 Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 How many untrue rumors did that site report about the Bengals all year? How many things did Marvin and the boys deny all year? Remember Les Frazier? How safe he was? How about Peter Warrrick? Do you really think Chad wanted to be quiet all week on his own? The site generates 10's of billions of dollars for making up stories, and this is the 1st 1 I've heard all year.I agree Shula! I see get rid of him. He is good and blah, blah, blah, but dealing with this crap is a distraction that the Bengals don't need. If the Bengals could trade him for some defensive help I would be all for it. Quote
Ripper Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 You people need to get your head checked. This is Bogus ! Quote
HairOnFire Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 You people need to get your head checked. This is Bogus ! What's bogus? Are you impluing that Walzav isn't a cross dresser? Quote
Jonboat Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 You're ready to get rid of one of the best receivers in the league over a rumor that CJ & the Bengals flat out deny ? Emotions are high now so I can see why everyone would assume the worse but we need to relax & wait for some facts & hopefully we'll get some soon. True or not Marvin needs to squash this now he's going to be asked anyway. Take care of it now before it gets blown out of proportion the longer it goes the more skeptical I'd be.Let's not forget CJ's agent , anybody catch the commercial , the media would love nothing better than for something like this to happen it's easy to kick someone while they're down. Kirkendall Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 I believe it 100%. People don't just make rumors up for nothing. This will gain momentum, and it will probably be on NFL total access tonight. Thorton obviously was talking about Chad. You can see where it fits Chad's personality and Thorton didn't deny it. I think that Chad thinks he's bigger than the team and he might be moving into distraction territory.Distraction for what? The season is over.Hey, why not believe Chad over a "rumormill" this one time. He's given you no reason to suggest otherwise. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Walzav is not a cross dresser, he is a transvestite from transylvania. Quote
membengal Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 You people need to get your head checked. This is Bogus ! What's bogus? Are you impluing that Walzav isn't a cross dresser?he can't be implying that. It's on a chat board. It must be true. People don't just make stuff up... Quote
Kirkendall Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Looks like PFW has since updated twice. They are truly sticking to their story... Quote
futurebengal08 Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Honestly guys, this is rumor is scaring the crap out of me. I talk Chad up to all my friends...I honestly believe that this guy is awesome. This type of thing would completely expunge my respect for Chad. Someone needs to come out and make a statement about it. I've been sick to my stomach all day over it. Quote

PMThor Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 I believe it 100%. People don't just make rumors up for nothing. The Bengals' are not denying it nor confirming it per the usual - but that alone is enough to tell me something happened. The absence of denial to a rumor is not proof that it occurred. Let me say that again. Just because they don't address the purported event does not mean it happened. They are damned if they address it, damned if they don't. By not talking about it, people think they are covering something up. If they talk about it, then people will think something really happened. The Bengals are stuck in a no win situation. Quote

I wouldn't mind hearing it straight from Hue either. Quote
bengals4ever Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 This is on bengals.com edit : My apologies on the dupe post. I didn't see previous. Mea Culpa. Quote
Stripes Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 That is just Hobson picking up the story as will many other branches of the media... Still a load of crap though. Quote
turnip Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 PFT broke the "Ron Mexico" story as a rumor like this, about 4 days before ESPN reported it. Quote
KEGutterboy Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 PFT broke the "Ron Mexico" story as a rumor like this, about 4 days before ESPN reported it.I here Dave Lapham said he had 2 unnamed sources report it to him that it did occur. I am not local so do not here the local media. Has anyone else heard this? Quote
PMThor Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 CJ is going to have a 7PM news conference on the matter tonight. Also, channel 12 led off with it...whatshisface the announcer guy said that Chad sounded pissed off and that he wanted to "set the record straight to this internet rumor", and that he wanted to end all of the crud flying around concerning it. Rumor enough for him to schedule a press conference. This is odd, ussually the bengals never come out on s**t like this. Quote
buck3y3d Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Something happened at half time. Every rumor starts with a grain of truth, and this one seems to have some truth to it. Chad is a hot head, anyone that watches him should be able to see that. However, to say trading Chad is a bad idea is not entirely accurate.Chad will save us a ton of cap room. Chris Henry is progressing at the same rate, if not faster than Chad was. Chris could be just is good in 2 years. The defense needs alot of help, and not paying Chad opens alot of money. Finally, Chad will probably hold out, and I really don't want the TO saga. The fact is he is human and wants money. I don't blame him, but I don't think the Bengals need him or the attitude on the team. This is not my opinion due to the above incident, but an opinion I have had for a long time.I love Chad the football player, and even like Chad the entertainer, but Chad's mouth creates a lot of turbulent situations. Did you happen to catch those personal problems that follow Chris? Im not going to say Chad is an angel but his off field problems are nill. I think stuff like this halftime thing are immaturity issues that will pass with time. Quote

Im not going to say Chad is an angel but his off field problems are nill.I completely agree Chris has off the field issues, but he doesn't cause strife with his teamates. I think Chad has quietly annoyed many of the players on the team over the past 3 years. I really don't know, but to me trading Chad would not be the end of the world. Quote
walshfan Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 how do you know he doesnt call strife of some sort?Everything he does is for attention to himeself...Personally if any part of this is true id like to ship him out ...for every good receiver in the league theres another ready to step in and make a name for himself...let rex grossman throw him the damn ball and see how many receptions and yards he gets therer..selfish immature and a general pain in the ass anymore...
