What this Bengal fan in Pittsburgh should do?

  1. 1. What should I do for the game?

    • Buy single ticket on eBay and hit the road

    • Hit the road and hope to buy a ticket around the stadium

    • Hit the road and find a place to hang out with Bengal fans

    • Stay in my living room and watch the game

    • Head to a local place, obviously filled with Steeler fans (not sure I could really get myself to do this one!)

BEFORE CHOOSING ... please know the following:

* Finding a place to hangout with fellow Bengal fans is appealing because I could probably get on the road and get back earlier (not fighting as much stadium traffic ... I know, wimpy).

* I have driven in to Cincinnati twice this year and the Bengals have lost both games (Indy and Buffalo). Can bad carma be real?

* Throughout my life, I have only been able to attend one other Cincinnati area playoff game. Game 1 of the Reds 1990 World Series ... a huge shutout victory. Hmmm ... can good carma be real?

* I have a very early meeting on Monday morning and will probably not arrive in Pittsburgh until 1 or 2 a.m. (or later with traffic, etc.).

* I will be traveling alone.

* I have tried and tried to find ANYONE else in Pittsburgh that is a Bengals fan. None. Believe it or not, I have actually met several folks from Cincinnati that have become Steelers fans. I now have no respect for these bandwagoners.

* This may very well be the only time the Bengals and the hated Steelers play in the playoffs for quite some time, if not in my lifetime. Heck, the Bengals have been around since 1968 and this is the first time!

* A Bengal loss would make the drive back absolutely the longest and worst drive ever.

* A Bengal victory would make the drive back absolutely the most enjoyable drive I could ever imagine!

If you can, find yourself a near-Pennsylvania border den of Bengals fans. Hell, you could even come all the way to Cincy and head to your nearest BW3's or Fricker's.

Hit the road my man. I am sure one of us will be able to accomidate you when you get to the game. I KNOW you can get a ticket when you get outside the stadium. Just bring a couple hundred bones with you.

OK Duus, I was all for ya drivin down and lookin for a ticket until I read the Karma thing. I am so superstitious it aint't funny. So please find a nice cozy place a few hours from home and enjoy the game with some fellow Bengal fans. Sorry dude, but your presence scares me! You are banned from the stadium tomorrow. :banned:

I'm a homebody, so it was a pretty easy choice for me

I'm going to make some homemade potato skins, get some drinks, and I even talked the wife (a titans fan) into sporting some Bengals gear for the game.

Good times :)

Sounds like you have a good plan. Maybe a little halftime entertainment after we are up by 2 TDs :)

Stay at home. You'll save money that would be wasted on seeing a loss.

You going to be back tomorrow when you get rolled? Doubt it. Why waste our time making a screenname?

Yeah, I think I will. How great it would be to wander to a few establishments in the second half. Now that would be fun. Let me know where you'll be in Pittsburgh, and I'd be happy to show up with my best Hines Ward grin imitation. Or are you one of those remote guys who somehow is thinking it's ok to spread the Steeler ignorance across America? Nah, I think you're a local ... the level of your posts is quite indicative of the educational system around here.

This is easy! During football season, keep your unlucky butt at home.

During baseball season, as Bob Barker used to say bob_barker.jpg c'mon down!!

If you have the money to go to the game, you gotta do it. We haven't had a playoff game in 15 years!

However... if you're like me, and are in graduate school, and your job pays you in peanuts, you can't afford it.

Being a fellow out-of-towner, I only know one of ther Bengals fan in the area. We had it set up to watch the game together... but he landed himself in the hospital last night... so, like I have so many times before... I'll watch the game by myself in my living room, with my dad on speed dial so I can call him anytime something interesting happens.
