Pros and Con's of #3 or #4 seeds

The Good for #4

Jax 1st round. The Bengal would kill these guys no doubt in my mind. It's too cold for Florida boys.

We could root for the Steelers go to the Championship game @Cincy

The Bengals could avoid going to Denver and face their undefeated home record and their 2 100 yard rushers.

The Bad for #4

We'd be in Indy pretty quick, and I do not like the odds of winning @Indy and then @ the Pats.

The higher seed the better. You never know what happens, and I still like the Bengals @ home instead of the road.

The Good for #3

The Colts and Pats will beat the crap out of eachother before the next week.

I still think that Jake Plummer will choke at some point.

The Bad for #3

The Steelers in the 1st round. The pressure would all be on Cincy.

Denver's running game.

Bottom line is at some point the Bengals will have to pull some playoff upsets. At least we've got a shot. Let's enjoy it!!!!!!

The 4th seed does look more enticing for those of us who are starting to lose hope in our shot at the Superbowl, because winning a playoff game is what we need to do before the drought is really over in my mind (this becomes a much more forseeable achievement if we are facing the Jaguars). Still, I don't think we need to shy away from the prospect of playing the Steelers in the first round, I think we're still the better team.

It is starting to look as though getting the 4th seed is the most likely scenario. If our starters aren't out there much this Sunday, then I highly doubt we'd beat the Chiefs. The Patriots will probably beat the Dolphins.

Bring on the Jaguars, we should've beat 'em the first time and we will the second.

i like the 3 seed. 3 seed gets us pitt in the first round then denver, then the colts. i like that order alot better than jax, colts, ne/den.

dunno if we'll even try vs the chiefs though...

They had better. I don't think they are veteran enough to just take 2 weeks off and then turn it on against Jax.... Even writing that I just can't quit thinking that Jacksonville would be an easier victory than Pitt. I'm just spooked of the Colt's. Screw it, if you're gonna win a Super Bowl you'll have to beat good teams eventually. Give me Pitt, Broncos, and Colts!!

Honestly I could give a s**t! I think the team feels the same way. They ain't looking to duck any team, Indy included. You can't go into the playoffs afraid of anyone!

Also I find it unbelievable there's actually a thread quibling about what seed the Bengals go into the playoffs as, when only a few short years ago the Bengals going to the playoffs at all was unthinkable! Just play 'em one at a time, and remember that it just may be the Bengals who are the ones who are feared. Palmer and company ain't chopped liver.

From here on out Bengalszone has officially become nowuss3fh.jpg:bengal:

I don't care whether it's a #3 seed or a #4 seed. First of all, don't look ahead to the second round. That's pointless when you don't know the outcome of the first round or even the final seeding. Second, we've already shown that we can beat Pittsburgh and we hung very close with Jax in Jacksonville despite getting off to a horrid start in that game. We can beat either team if we show up. We didn't show up against the Bills. We barely showed up against Cleveland. My concern isn't about the other team, it's about our team and if we're going to show up at that first playoff game.

And for those who do want to look ahead, the only way that we play Indy in the second round is if we wind up with the #4 seed and New England wins their first round game. In all other scenarios we will play at Denver, PROVIDED THAT WE SHOW UP in the first round. If we make it to the second round, I don't care who we face. To be the man you have to beat the man! WHO DEY!

B) What he said. Jags = payback time for the regular seaon loss ...... Stillers = winning 2 out of 3 and sending them home from the playoffs early ( ya gotta like tat ) .......... Colts ...... so what ???? CJ has already told us the Bengals are going to win this one.

What he said.

The playoffs realign after every round with high seed versus low seed. If Pitt beats New England all your speculating is irrelavent because we would be going to Denver.

Have you guys not watched the playoffs in 15 years.

AFTER EACH ROUND THERE IS REALIGNMENT OF BRACKETS SO HIGH SEED PLAYS LOW SEED!

You're right. Her mama taught her not to talk with her mouth full!
