Playoff tickets sold out

December 19, 2005

Posted: 1:35 p.m.

Tickets for the Bengals’ first home playoff game, plus a possible second home playoff game, have been sold out to season ticket holders, the club’s ticket office announced today.

Season ticket holders were able to purchase their season ticket locations for playoff games and also could request a limited number of additional tickets. A tremendous response from season ticket holders for these options has exhausted the inventory. The Bengals are guaranteed at least one home playoff game after clinching the AFC North championship this past Sunday. It is not yet known whether that game would be on the weekend of Jan. 7-8 or Jan. 14-15. The Bengals will host a game on one of those weekends, but not both. In either case, the Bengals could also be the host team for the AFC Championship game, scheduled Jan. 22.

let the ebay bidding war begin

Not sure I agree with letting season ticket holders buy as many as they want upfront - they just scalp them on Ebay...has turned into a big money making scalping industry, and I don't blame the season ticket holders at all - but blame the way the Bengals' handle their playoff ticket sales.

I was only given an opportunity to purchase one additional ticket, not as many as I want. I'm not even sure at this point if I received that additional ticket.

hey if season ticket holders get raped on the seat license, well.....

But they should let a certain number of tickets stay behind.... :sure:

Ox, is that your wife?!?! You may get some takers . . .

Uuuh I'm pretty sure that's not her. ^_^

I just heard Lance say on the radio today here that season ticket holders had first dibs at all playoff tickets, and could buy as many as they wanted? (this may not include your initial allotment of choices). Or that could mean the season ticket holders as a whole buy up enough of what's left to sell out the games.

Actually, I'm a season ticket holder -- I'll explain. We were given the opportunity to buy our season ticket seats for the playoffs along with the CHANCE to get additional seats up to the number of season tickets we held. So, in my case I got two tickets for my season ticket seats and I signed up for the opportunity for two additional seats (which I haven't heard back about yet).

Same thing here; I'm waiting to see if I got any extra tickets, also.

My friend and me have season tickets, The tickets are in his name and I just pay him. He didn't buy the extra tickets and I'm pissed, we could've sold them and recouped some of the monies that we have shelled out.

BTW, as a season ticket hold we have to buy a COA, now that is bullchit.

Also btw, season tickets are well worth it. I've been a bengal fan all my life, but now I can afford to pay for season tickets. We got on board last year. It is money well spent.

seriously if the bengals host the steelers, i bet i could sell my 2 endzone tickets for buy it now at $1000, no problem.

Question ... does the fact that this game is sold-out mean that the Bengals season ticket holders bought ALL possible tickets? If that's really the case, then I personally will be absolutely TICKED if I see Steeler fans in this game, should they play each other! If any of the season ticket holders sell to non-Bengal fans, I will just go nuts! We MUST keep the Steeler fans at home in front of their t.v.'s!

Ill be there, family season tickets, had em since 1970

I'll be there w/ The Brew Man. We have different seats to represent this Saturday vs. the Bills.

I was at both home playoff games in 1988, its been a long wait.

I just hope that the season ticket holders aren't selling their tickets to Squealer fans. Keep the tickets in the family, do your homework for ebay bidders, you have a responsibility to the Jungle before your pocketbook.

I remember in 1988, we had a home Monday night game vs. Cleveland and a guy walked up to a scalper on now 2nd street in a Kosar jersey. The scalper told him to take off his jersey if he wanted to buy the tickets. He refused, so the scalper walked away. I just about cried a Who Dey tear.

Anybody interested in spending new years eve in Kansas City for the Jan. 1 game? Ebay tickets are reasonable for that game. Road trip anyone?

I agree with Duus. If any non-Bengal fans have tickets, I will be pissed. Don't sell 'em on eBay, sell 'em here. Who cares about money? It's the Bengals in the PLAYOFFS!!!

I bought mine today through Riverfront Choice Tickets. And I can tell you that they, along with many other brokers, have a lot of tickets and the only color they support is $GREEN$. So, if there are visiting fans, they CAN get tickets as long as they are willing to pay a premium. We are in sec 343 and we paid $170 per ticket.

Just a little FYI.
