cj4mvp85 Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 just heard that sportscenter will be doing a segment on chad in their show today tune in now!! Quote
cj4mvp85 Posted November 29, 2005 Author Report Posted November 29, 2005 just finished...what a FANTASTIC story.....did anybody record it??I really wanna see it again it bought out the other side of Chad a lot of people dont know about...what a great guy Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Just saw it, his former Jr. college coach was tearin' up talking about him and how he almost gave up on Chad after flunking out of school and getting charged with domestic violence.Sounds like he grew up a lot when his coach (who was basically his father it sounded like at the time) made him stay at Org. St. after he got homesick and wanted to leave/come home. That guy's gonna win us a Superbowl some day, as long as he has Carson too. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Stuart Scott did a cool "Def Jam Poetry" deal on Chad this morning. It was great Quote
cj4mvp85 Posted November 29, 2005 Author Report Posted November 29, 2005 Stuart Scott did a cool "Def Jam Poetry" deal on Chad this morning. It was greatdidnt see it did u record it by any chance?? Quote
membengal Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Stuart Scott?? Yeah, I gotta throw a flag here. 15 yards and an ejection.Nothing Stuart Scott does is "cool" and that poetry thing was awful by any standards. Just because it was about the Bengals does not make it OK. Quote
Stripes Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I thought the segment on Chad was way too dramaticized. It was very corny. I like to see Chad on TV, but c'mon ESPN. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Come on, guys. It wasn't bad at all. You guys kill me with your biases and problems with broadcasters and writers Quote
ArmyBengal Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Stuart Scott = Gay and the interview wasn't bad at all. If nothing else, it explains alot about how the comparisons to T.O. are off base. It makes Chad more real to people and shows him in another light. He's a good person and a great player... I love that he plays for us !!!On another note, there was another interview with Chad this morning on Cold Pizza where Chad said his favorite celebration so far was the golfing one last week. I loved the CPR one myself, being a medic, but Chad also stated the best is yet to come.WHODEY !!! Quote
membengal Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 You are conflating SC pieces.Piece on CJ? GoodStuart Scott doing a highlight like he is doing def jam poetry? Execrable. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Conflating... Good word !!! However, there was the piece on Chad yesterday (The personal one)... The piece on Chad this morning (Talked about celebrations on Cold Pizza)... Then the horrible Stuart Scott attempt at entertainment... The Cold Pizza crew (Idiots in my opinion) said the Bengals would make it to the playoffs, but lose in the first round. I don't think they're idiots due to their opinion of the Bengals either, they are irritating. I will watch anything about the Bengals regardless, but they suck...WHODEY !!! Quote
WhoDey42 Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I recorded it last night when I was out. I just watched it... I thought it was very good. I didn't think it was corny. It showed how much Chad has had to change himself to get to where he is today. As for the poetry thing with Stuart Scott....that may have been the stupidest thing I've seen on SportsCenter in a long time. That was horrible. Stuart Scott is annoying when he just does highlights normally...but that was unbearable. Quote
HairOnFire Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I caught the ESPN Chad feature on Sunday morning. Not sure if I'd call it corny, but there wasn't anything new in it as the NFL Network did a comparable piece several months ago that included much more info and far fewer tears. Happily, I missed poetry corner completely. Here's a question just begging to be asked. When do we get sick of national media coverage? I know it's not coming soon, as we're all enjoying the Bengals new status as media darlings. But at what point do we step over that invisible line and become overexposed? When do we become the Eagles? Does it come only after Chad get a Chunky Soup commercial that makes us all want to hide our Bengal gear? You know it's coming. Quote
bengalindian Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 It'll come after the Bengals do serious damage in the playoffs, and sign someone(s) huge in the offseason, or after a Bengal breaks some sort of record next season. Personally, I hope it never happens. It hasn't happened this season, but for once, I'd like people to talk crap to me about the Bengals, and then the Bengals go out and beat the s**t out of some awesome team (aka Colts, Jags, Steelers). jditty47 Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 stuart scott is not that bad...i actually like him over alot of other espn personalities. i liked him on primetime. he should go back to it. Quote
