duus Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Posted December 4, 2005 Too funny. I just had a good friend call me (one of my few up here ... he is not a sports fan at all ... that's why I can tolerate him!). He called, and immediately said, "Go Bengals!" I said thanks and asked if he watched it. He said of course not, but he went to Sam's Club and everyone was walking around like their mother just died. He was confused what was wrong and then remembered that the Steelers were playing. Then he remembered it was against the Bengals, and assumed they lost and thought he would call me. Too funny. Quote

One area is Richmon, and another thought we are considering is not necessarily Lexington, but between Louisville and Lexington (i.e. Frankfurt). We started looking during our last trip, and expect to continue that toward the end of the year. This could make for a great year! ... Bengals win the North, Steelers don't make the playoffs, and I get my butt out of the town!! Two words ... SU - WEET !! Quote
NYBengalfan Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 "It was nothing Cincinnati did, it was something we did." - Hines Ward ( FSN PIT, "FSN LIVE Steelers Edition)hmmm...... a**h***, just won't admit that they got bitch slapped.Tunch Ilkin and Craig Wolfley look crushed, this is absolutely great. membengal Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 I have missed this today duus. Have you listened to the sports talk shows in Pittsburgh today? If so, has it been fun to listen to? What has generally been the tone?(Yes, I enjoy other fan base's pain---I went through enough of it myself---I get to be petty) Quote
duus Posted December 6, 2005 Author Report Posted December 6, 2005 It's been a long day, mostly from how tired I was due to complete lack of sleep last night. What a night! Pure joy!I surely haven't bothered to attempt to capture the thousands of quotes throughout the day, but suffice it to say that every tv show, radio show, and general public attitude is that of confusion. What's most interesting to me, is that as the evening has worn on, I have heard at least a dozen different tv and radio hosts mention that they think the Steelers will be playing the Bengals again in the playoffs and will beat them. They have consistently stated that the Steelers 'man-handled' the Bengals in October, and the Bengals 'barely won' on Sunday. They are thoroughly and absolutely convinced (24 hours later) that the Steelers would completely control a 3rd meeting this season. I've also heard them state that such a playoff game in Cincinnati would have the Bengals AT MOST a 3 point favorite ... and the Steelers would get back to THEIR STYLE and man-handle them once again.I kid you not ... this is the absolute consensus around here. I truly hope the media in Cincinnati is capturing some of this for our Bengals should they see each other again this season. The arrogance (uh, denial) in this town is amazing. Even after losing a December home game to the Bengals, they still come out believing they would win a rematch.Have I mentioned that I hate this town?(go Bears!) Quote
andybren Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 The arrogance (uh, denial) in this town is amazing. The five steps of grief:1. Denial ("They didn't beat us, we beat ourselves")2. Anger ("I don't care if that linebacker tripped into Ben, we should kill him")3. Bargaining ("Wait 'til we meet them in the playoffs, we'll play our style of football")4. Depression ("If we don't fire Cowher, we'll never win another game")5. Acceptance ("I need another beer") Quote
