dave Posted November 21, 2005 Author Report Posted November 21, 2005 Dave, the fact that you wished injury on anyone is total bullcrap. You're right, AMC and I already edited my post before I even saw your note. I don't want him to get hurt and I don't wish him ill will. Was too wound up after the game and a little hammered. That was dumb.Still, I stand by the rest of what I said. Chad had a great day, but that was a moronic, classless move. I could be wrong, but I'm willing to bet the distractions will become too much some day. Guess we'll see. Quote
turningpoint Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 but you;re comparing apples to oranges dude..........he didn't mean what you think he thought by the sign, check the video, christ.he's on record saying he doesn't talk about his contract during the season, and said TO shouldn't be either, but there is nothing he can do. derekshank Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Chad Johnson's quote“I really don’t like it. I just want him to know I got his back," Johnson said of the former Eagles receiver whose fate is to be decided by an arbitrator this week as he tries to hook on with another team. “That was for him. I talk to him almost every day. ... Everything he can’t do now, I’m going to pick up the slack.”http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=4840It has nothing to do with contract disputes. You don't have to like that he is friends with T.O., but I have lots of friends that do dumb things... that doesn't mean I'll to them too. I wish that he didn't have Rosenhaus as an agent... but I would look for both Palmer and Chad's contract to be quietly restructured this off-season, and lock the two of them up together for a decade. You don't want to separate these guys... so don't worry. Chad just wants attention so badly... he's going to do stupid things like this to get people talking. I very much doubt that it is a distraction in the locker room. It just gives us stuff to talk about Quote
Ox Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Hate to say it but hopefully PITT gets em in Indy next week. Dude, what the hell is wrong with you? Why in the SAM HELL would you want Pitt to win? Just to end the winning streak? Give me a break, there are more important things going on here, like a division title. Geeez. How many Sky is Falling threads do we have to have To F'n many, that's for damn'd sure. Quote
dave Posted November 21, 2005 Author Report Posted November 21, 2005 Peter King on Chad. I don't like King as much as I used to, but it's a positive piece and he doesn't mention the sign.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writ....week.11/1.htmlGood points all around, guys. I still don't like the sign, but I guess I took it the wrong way and was way the hell off-base. Sorry to get everyone riled up... Quote
rob_justdmb Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Did it say I "get" you, or I "got" you. I thought it was "got." makes a big difference. I could be wrong. Quote

Kirkendall Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I'm going against the grain here. I guess my problem with the whole thing is that Chad shows his support on national television for a malcontent on another team while the BENGALS are still losing by four points on this big-time national game stage. Quote
Jet23 Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Right now it seems as if the entire world is against TO. Did TO bring this on himself? I believe he did. I just think Chad wants TO to know that not everyone is against him. I doubt that it is more than that. Quote

He could have written "I like big boobies" on the board, doesn't matter! It's a mental distraction, that Marvin needs to address. Quote
HairOnFire Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 To quote HairOnFire... "This thread sucks." Yeah, I have to agree with myself on this one. And just for the record the most stupid thing anyone has said in this thread is that Carson Palmer has the personality of a tuna. Quote

bengalindian Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 It's not a big deal. Chad loves the attention. We all know that. It was a nationally televised game, and it was his chance. Who really cares? Did Chad just stop playing after that TD? Hell no. He played the best game of his life, and that's all we could have asked of him. Give it a rest, seriously. The Bengals have a lot more issues than what Chad does after a TD. Like defense. And Special Teams. And fourth down conversions. And apparently, penalties. Quote
Ripper Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I was thinking just yesterday tht Chad Johnson is the greatest thing that has ever happened to this team ! I pray he doesn't go TO, or Carl Pickens on us but I think if he does no matter who he is Marvin won't have any of it. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I hope Chad holds out, becuase I hate the bengals(supposivly) Quote
hottub Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 Yeah, I have to agree with myself on this one. And just for the record the most stupid thing anyone has said in this thread is that Carson Palmer has the personality of a tuna. You think he doesn't have the personality of a tuna? Wow! I thought I was being harsh! What living creature has less personality than a tuna?Seriously, have you ever seen him without that worried look on his face? For pete's sake, Carson - you've been paid millions of dollars to play a game! Lighten up, dude!Besides, even Chad said he was boring... and he needs the man to throw him the ball! I don't think I was revealing a secret, HOF. Quote
bengalindian Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 Everyone's boring compared to Chad. Carson knows it's business. And you don't see Carson joking/messing around after a loss. He'll take the blame after losses and spread the credit to everyone else but himself after a win. He's classy and a quiet person. Perfect compliment to Chad. Quote
HoosierCat Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 Here's an idea for Chad...Reader Brian Walsh: "I'm rooting for the Panthers and Bengals to meet in the Super Bowl this year just so Chad Johnson can get on one knee in front of a Panthers cheerleader with a sign that says Will you make out with another cheerleader?" :lmao:http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5102530 Quote

For pete's sake, Carson - you've been paid millions of dollars to play a game! Lighten up, dude!Besides, even Chad said he was boring... and he needs the man to throw him the ball! I don't think I was revealing a secret, HOF. Palmer rarely looks worried to me. In fact, he usually looks serious...which is fine with me because I actually appreciate a QB who takes his job seriously. It's a nice chnge of pace. And if you haven't noticed there are two Carson Palmers. One is the version that often looks uncomfortable talking to media types. The other version easily jokes with fellow players, including Hall of Famer Steve Young during an interview about footwork and throwing a perfect pass. If you missed it Palmer explained that Bengal QB's call a perfect pass a DIME and often mix it up by saying the word dime in different ways. When Young imitated how Palmer said the word Palmer promptly dissed the Hall of Famer by saying his version needed some work. It was pretty funny stuff and just the latest example of how comfortable Palmer is around other players, even great ones. And don't forget that palmer had an answer for Chad's claim that he was boring, explaining that he drove to Indy because there was no way he was ever going to set foot in Chad's pinkish "look-at-me" pimpmobile. As for Chad, he's certainly entertaining, but his own coaches admit that he's a high maintenance player who occasionaly suffers from wild mood swings. In fact, there are times when it's fair to say that he's often entertaining in the same way that a crazy person who spends his day yelling at passing traffic is entertaining. It's usually good for a nervous laugh or two. Quote
