PMThor
Thank you Whodey. You are absolutely right. Some people want to just see the worst in the events. Some of us want to see how these kinds of games can make us better down the line. Look at who we lost to this year, three teams we most likely will see in the playoffs. We can only learn and not be Chicken Little. The sky is not falling.
walshfan
One way to look at it is that both the Bengals and Steelers lost but Pitt lost a division game!!!!!!
BengalszoneBilly
Jacksonville can win out their schedule and will be 13-3.I feel the Bengals are capable of doing the same PROVIDING the defense improves a little bit!

bengalindian
Seriously, you bandwagon fans are pissing me off. I was very zen with the loss tonight, and I talked to some awesome Colts fans that realize how good the Bengals are. But we all agree that they're one year away from elite status. However, STFU about how the season is over and all that crap. You people can't stop complaining, whether it was the Bungles constantly losing, and now it's the BENGALS losing to the best team the NFL has seen in a long time. BengalszoneBilly
aint asking much from Ohalete and company are you Billy?Ohalete aside, I don't think I am. At least I pray I'm not anyway. First of all, I know I'm rough on the Bengals defensive unit in my posts. Maybe overly so, but they are the weaker side of the Bengals football team. What's more is they always have been since I began watching them in '69, and basically...I'm f**king sick of it! Why the f**k can't the defense match the f**king offense in in team strength for once in the history of the Cincinnati Bengals, I don't know. Not even with f**king Fulcher back in '88 did the Bengals defense rival the Bengals offense. Why must our hopes always ride on the arms of our quarterbacks, hands of our recievers, or legs of our running backs, knowing that if we don't score a s**tload of points, we're probably not going to win because the defense can't consistently shut down good offenses! (I wonder what the f**king record is for using the word "f**k" in a single f**king paragraph? Ahhhh...who give a f**k!) I'm also so tired of all the references to the Bengals "Bend-But-Don't-Break" defense bulls**t. Admit it. All that is is another way of saying you're willing to settle for mediocrity. Well good for you. That just makes you a loser in my book. I'm not now, nor will I ever be happy with a mediocre defense, because a team will only be as good as the sum of it's parts, and if one part is mediocre...well I think you guy's can do the math from here. Now, after I've said all of that, let me add one more thing. The defense is overall a bunch of young players, who will get better. They've improved with every game this season and I see no reason why that shouldn't continue. My problem is that I'm just an impatient son of a bitch! Now I need get offline and go wash off this stupid paint I put on for the big game today... walshfan
They will never stop the run until they upgrade their DT positions and bring in a stud SS... Im tired of hearing that Thornton and Robinson are ok.. They're Not!They are mediocre at Best... linebackers we have ... corners are doing well this year.. safties and tackles need to be replaced after this season aside from Williams.I have condidence in players that perform well.. That doesnt include the team's DT's and safties....Ill attack anyone I feel is an idiot......I have yet to see you "show confidence" in anyone.I certainly dont in your opinions. Two points. First, the defense has been responsible for at least half of the Bengals wins this season. So give the defense the respect they're due. I'm not suggesting that anyone ignores their faults, but let's not go overboard with the criticism. After all, the majority of Bengal fans polled voted to concentrate on stopping a Colt running game while the team took it's chances with a Peyton Manning led passing attack. So most of us got what we wanted. (I wasn't one of them.) Last, like it or not but this is a franchise that has always been built around offensive football. Specifically, a tradition built upon a power running game and a state-of-the-art passing attack. By comparison the defensive tradition has always been spotty and too often seems to be an afterthought. That may change, and we all hope it does, but history teaches us that there's a very good reason that people often say that a tiger can't change it's stripes. We are all the bastard sons of Paul Brown.

Jet23
Not only did we barely lose to the best team in the NFL, Manning had to play a great game to pull it off. Hats off to him for playing a great game. Even if we don't win the division (I think we will), there are two wild cards. We would probably get the 2nd one, because Jacksonville beat us and they have a cake schedule remaining. Our biggest competion is KC & San Diego. KC has to play us, the Broncos and the Chargers at home, and go on the road to play Dallas & the Giants. San Diego doesn't have it much easier as they have road games against Indy, KC & the Skins. Not to mention they have Denver at home. Playoffs are not a lock, but you certainly have to like our chances.
