LolaMoon Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 http://www.usatoday.com/sports/columnist/l...s-bengals_x.htmIt is a nice read! Comical in a way. They want a Colt/Bengal rivalry! Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 It's like they're trying to goade either team into saying something to inflame the other. Isn't there enough hate and discontent for these guys to write about with T.O. suspended, that they have to go and try to stir s**t up elsewhere? It ain't going to happen. Mostly because these two teams flat respect each others talent and ability. What's so unusual about respect? Quote
Stripes Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 That was a funny read. This very well could turn into a rivalry in the lnog run if both of these teams are still good for the next five or so years. The Colts and Patriots were never a rivalry until the New England dynasty, and now there is always bad blood between those two teams. The best thing that could happen to develop a rivalry here would be for the Bengals to knock them off of their undefeated perch. You can bet a lot of money that the Chiefs will want some revenge later this year Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 The Manning-Palmer thing will hopefully make it one for years. Quote
bengalindian Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 I like this article. The Steelers game, Marvin shut everyone off from the media and made it seem like a special week or big game, and this week, it's just another week, another step, and they're taking it as it comes. I like that approach, and hopefully that's how they continue to take every game. Don't swallow more than you can chew. Quote
HairOnFire Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Not much of an article in my opinion. Was there a single Colt player quoted? None that I recall. Seems to me it was just a bunch of quotes from Bengal players about taking games one at a time while playing their game rather than adjusting to any opponent. No wonder Colt fans are trying to make a big deal out of a single sentence uttered by Palmer. No, make that a single word. (((Shrug))) Quote
jjakq27 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Back when they realigned the divisions, I wanted the Colts instead of the Ravens. Two of the teams would be situated on I-71 and two on I-70 with the intersection in Columbus. That's how you develop a rivalry. Make all of the games within 4 to 5 hours from any city. But I guess the NFL decided that they would rather have the old Browns and the new Browns in the same division rather than doing something that makes more sense geographically. Baltimore should have been in the East with the Jets, the Bills and New England. Miami would be in the South with Tennessee, Jacksonville and Houston. The West would remain unchanged. Quote
walshfan Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Bengals dont play the Colts enough to form a real rivalry...I wisha the Colts were in the same division.... Quote
Stripes Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 I wisha the Colts were in the same division.... No thanks! We have enough rivalry and difficulty on our hands with those damned Steelers. Quote
