Dan2330
Was happy to actually see the Colts win today, how ironic they come into PBS undeafeated at 9-0 just like the Chiefs from 2003. This will be the game of the year to date, especially after this weekend's matchups- hard to believe only two teams with winning records are playing each other today. Colts look solid and you know they are going to be running James up and down the field, anyone know the long range forecast for Cincy for next week yet? Let's face it the Colts don't play well in the outdoor cold, I guess snow would be too much to ask for, but maybe some rain?
CUbaseball11
The two best records in football meet up one week from today.......what's everyone's outlook?Bengals 31Colts
PMThor
Heh, just checked around, WCPO is calling for a high of 43 with a mix of sleet/rain. But then weatherchannel is saying high of 50 and partly sunny. I guess that means it is still too early to tell.As for the game. I really think the Bengals are going to win this one. You can't give Marvin Lewis two weeks to get ready for any game. Then guys who are banged up will get healthy. Plus the homefield factor, the outdoor factor (please let it be cold and nasty!) and I think these add up to a Bengals win. This is a defining game for this team. Stripes
I'll be at the game, so don't worry guys, we'll win it. This will be an exciting Sunday indeed. I hope Paul Brown Stadium is louder than it has ever been before. We'll need that especially for this game.Let's hope our anticipation doesn't get us where it did with the first Pittsburgh game. derekshank
Think about this stat. After allowing an average of 5.8 points/game in tehir first 5 games... the Colt's defense has come back to earth. Their last 4 games, they are allowing 21.5 points/game, and two of those games have been against the Texans. Can anyone say overrated? We should be able to score on them... let's just hope the weather negatively effects their offense... because they've been on fire... averaging 38.5 points/game over their last 4. Stripes
Bengals 31Colts 27The Colts draw first blood. After winning the toss and electing to receive, they score on their first drive with a short touchdown from Manning to Wayne. The Bengals respond on their first drive, with a long touchdown from Palmer to Chad. Points come in a flurry in the first two quarters, and at half time the Colts lead it 20-17.In the second half, we get some big gains from Rudi Johnson, and are able to control the ball and keep the Colts offense off of the field. Rudi scores a touchdown to put us ahead 24-20. During the fourth quarter, Manning leads the Colts on a very long drive, that ends in an Edgerrin James touchdown with 3:25 left to play. They lead the game 27-24. Palmer gets the ball and works his magic, leading the Bengals into Colts territory with ease. T.J. Houshmandzadeh catches three passes on the drive. With 0:50 to play, on the Indianapolis seven yard line, Palmer throws a shovel pass to Chris Perry that ends up in the endzone. The Bengals take the lead, and keep it on a Manning interception during the Colts' final drive.9-1.
bengalindian
That's beautiful, TDB. No predictions for me, this one's a toss-up.
BengalszoneBilly
You can't give Marvin Lewis two weeks to get ready for any game.I didn't think so either PMThor...until I saw THIS from last season when the Bengals were coming off their bye week. Now seeing that bummed the crap outta me, but then I checked out the very next game after that debacle in Cleveland, and looking at it's PURE AND UNDENIABLE BEAUTY made me feel a whole lot better about the game with the Colts exactly one week from today! derekshank
That is pretty specific. Being that specific has got to be harder than winning the lottery... so if you are dead on, I will give you my house. It will come down to momentum late in the game. If we can get turnovers, and keep Manning off the field, it's our for the taking. If we make mistakes... the Colts can have the snowball effect, and the final score might not look as close as the game will be.My prediction... I won't dare be as specific, but my guess is that it will not come down to the last minute. One team will go up by two scores toward the end of the game, and the other will fail to convert a 4th down with around 4 minutes left in the game.I can't begin to predict which team that will be, because there are too many variables... but this one really does seem up for grabs. I hope we are up to the task.
pedroza29
Believe it or not, it's not Peyton that scares me that much. For the first time in years, we have the secondary to compete. Edgerin James is a different story though. I think if we shut Edge down, and FORCE Indy to throw instead of it being a part of their offense, that is when the turnovers happen. Then Carson and the offense is gonna have to prove to the nation that they can compete in a big game, which I think they'll do, cuz Marvin won't let them settle for less. So in my eyes, it's Kansas City 2003 all over again, with the offense keeping Manning off the field in a clock control offense. Bengals win 17-13. walzav29
If the Bengals don't win Sunday then there is no way they can beat the Colts this year. They got to sit home and watch\scout them last Monday, and yesterday. It's in Cincinnati, the Colt's have beaten their nemesis (Pats). They will start the mega-blitz of "undefeated" media talk. No one expects the Bengals to win, the Colts are coming off of a pretty easy win, and there are a couple of other factors. Basically. It's as good a setup as we could have hoped for. If they don't win this, then there is no way they would win in the Indy dome. What a game!!!!!!!!!
cincy9275
to beat this team we have to stop the run . we can not afford to have peyton and james to have a good game . if we do let them we will lose. we have to score early and often and pound rudi all day long to keep them off the field. there is a lot of hype about the colts defense but we can score on anybody . if things happen the way i say bengals win 27-24 GO BENGALS ! jjakq27
One factor that not too many people have talked about is the weather. It has been rather warm around here this fall but perhaps playing outside will give the Bengals a bit of an edge. I am looking for just about anything at this point! walzav29
This will be one of those games where the Bengals completely control the clock, and all of the idiot writers will talk about how the Colts are a fraud. The Bengals can do those nice 8 minute drives. My boy Rudi will get about 45 carries.
turningpoint
EDGE will not get 100yds, so therefore the bengals win.we need to get the ball early and score early, getting the lead.then from there on out hand the ball to rudi, and have him pound it. walzav29
We are all in agreement that this is the best secondary the Colts have faced right? The question is can Odell knock Edge on his A$$!
