Stripes
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking...on=2005&week=10We fall one slot in the ESPN rankings, but the teams above us seem deserving. I won't complain.I can't find any of the other weekly rankings up yet, so if y'all find 'em please stick 'em in here.
derekshank
It's nice that in their little comment about what's wrong with us, they are forced to go to two weeks ago when we lost to the Steelers. I take it as a complement that they can't seem to find much else wrong with the team other than "We lost to one of the best teams in the NFL"
HoosierCat
Here's prisco. Check where he puts the Pats.http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/powerrankings
Stripes
Check where he puts the Pats.I think the Pats should be more in the 20th to 23rd range. That defense has looked absolutely terrible, and I don't see them winning anymore games against winning teams.
bengalindian
I think last night's game showed how far the Pats have fallen. They almost lost to the Bills at home last weekend, and they got manhandled last night. They never showed that 'Patriots Spark' that we're so used to seeing, and I think that they need help. The loss of Crennel and Weis has had a bigger effect than most imagined, and the injury bug has really killed them. That said, the Colts are pretty freakin' good. alleycat
Yep. Colts are very good. But I will say this about NE. They got blown out by Pittsburgh for the game of unbeatens during the regular season. This game really didn't mean anything to them (as the Pittsburgh game didn't also). They are still in the lead in their division and nobody is going to overtake them. I wouldn't put it past Bellichik (sp?) to have played his cards close to his chest once again - in anticipation of having to meet again down the road. Just ask the Steelers how he does it. HoosierCat
I don't think Belichick is holding anything back. The Pats are just banged up; little bill can only do so much with the horses he's got. Their schedule does lighten up in the second half, with Miami and the Jets both twice, tho. I suspect they'll squeeze into the playoffs, thanks in no small part to the lack of any real competition in the AFCE.
skyline
No, he's not holding back. Did you see the first series last night when they went for a first down instead of kicking the field goal? That's called playing to win.I am remembering the correct game, right? I'm getting very confused in my old age.
bengalindian
Yeah, you're remembering correctly. That's what I'm hoping Marvin did in the first game with the Steelers; holding back any special schemes and plays to use on them in the second game, or even in the playoffs.
