BengalszoneBilly Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 I think Vic has been sippin' the Bengals cool aid pretty heavy! I like his enthuseasm though. Here's the LINK. Quote
skyline Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 Yeah, I'd say a little too generous, but whatever. I'll take it Quote
Spain Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 After the way we played Pitt, I would put us at seven! Quote

The Big Orange Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 I think we're better than all of the teams below us except Carolina and maybe Dallas...we're about even with the Giants...better than the Bucs, Pats, and even the Jags...though I wouldn't blame anyone for putting the Jags over us. Stripes Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 4th eh? Perhaps ol' Vic is just eating some crow after the "last in the AFC North" prediction in the preseason. Quote
HoosierCat Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 I dunno, billy. Pompus agrees with him...(scroll down)http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Aoyk...v=tsn&type=lgns Quote
Gregory Gall Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Well, Dr. Z brought us up five notches to #10 (up from #15 last week). I think #3 is a little high, I would say #7 or 8 (for now...). Quote
wookie Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 #4 is probably a bit high for the Bengals right now. I would definitely put the Jags much higher than they are ranked, and the Giants and Cowboys are a bit more like the Bengals in the sense that they can look like the top team in the NFl one week and then look completely lost the next. The 1 and 2 teams are the only teams that I have seen come out and play at a consistently high level all year. The Benals have very good offensive numbers, and as far as individual players go we have a lot of guys ranking at or near the top of the NFL/AFC in their respective categories. However, except for the T.O. ratio, thanks to the league leading 20 INTs, the Bengals D is very suspect. They have a problem with leaving points on the field and allowing teams to stay in the game. They need to adopt the killer instinct that will allow them to jump out early and keep teams down. The Pittsburgh game should have been at leat 14-0 early and maybe even 17 or 21-0. Take that angle and the Steelers have to throw into that dangerous and opportunistic secondary all day instead of running at the weak D-line.The Bengals are still making the stupid mistakes that keep them from being the team they have the potential of being. They could easily be #10 in the power rankings because of the losses to teams with winning records and the wins coming against opponents with losing records...or they could clean up their act on the field and push Denver for the #2 spot. I haven't seen the Bengals get beaten this year by a team that has a lot more talent, I have seen them lose because they can't play a polished and disciplined game. They are making the mistakes, taking TDs away from themselves, and then watching as the other teams take advantage of it. Quote

I'm willing to give them another year or two to be perfect Quote
