Ox
I am sick and damn'd tired of hearing how easy our schedule is. Also I am sick of hearing we are frauds, and not as good as the record indicates. Are we supposed to apologize for beating the teams on the schedule? This usually comes from dipsh*t Pittsburgh fans, but I've heard it from Colts and Jag fans too. Let's take a look at their schedule in comparison to ours. For ease of comparison, I will italisize the games they have against teams who have a record of .500 or under.Bengals2005 ScheduleDate Opponent Time/Result Away HomeSep 11 @Cleveland Won 27-13 Sep 18 Minnesota Won 37-8 Sep 25 @Chicago Won 24-7 Oct 2 Houston Won 16-10 Oct 9 @Jacksonville Lost 20-23 Oct 16 @Tennessee Won 31-23 Oct 23 Pittsburgh Lost 13-27 Oct 30 Green Bay Won 21-14 Nov 6 @Baltimore 1:00pm 704 111 145Week 10 BYE Nov 20 Indianapolis 4:15pm 704 103 107Nov 27 Baltimore 1:00pm 708 143 146Dec 4 @Pittsburgh 1:00pm 708 121 119Dec 11 Cleveland 1:00pm 705 143 144Dec 18 @Detroit 4:05pm 713 125 181Dec 24 Buffalo 1:00pm 704 143 144Jan 1 @Kansas City 1:00pm 710 145 119Total .500 or under games =11 SteelersSep 11 Tennessee Won 34-7 Sep 18 @Houston Won 27-7 Sep 25 New England Lost 20-23 Week 4 BYE Oct 10 @San Diego Won 24-22 Oct 16 Jacksonville Lost 17-23 Oct 23 @Cincinnati Won 27-13 Oct 31 Baltimore 9:00pm 125 124Nov 6 @Green Bay 4:15pm 713 125 126Nov 13 Cleveland 8:30pm 126 127Nov 20 @Baltimore 1:00pm 714 127 110Nov 28 @Indianapolis 9:00pm 125 124Dec 4 Cincinnati 1:00pm 708 121 119Dec 11 Chicago 1:00pm 711 119 107Dec 18 @Minnesota 1:00pm 711 144 146Dec 24 @Cleveland 1:00pm 705 125 118Jan 1 Detroit 1:00pm 707 121 118Total .500 or under games =11IndianapolisSep 11 @Baltimore Won 24-7 Sep 18 Jacksonville Won 10-3 Sep 25 Cleveland Won 13-6 Oct 2 @Tennessee Won 31-10 Oct 9 @San Francisco Won 28-3 Oct 17 St. Louis Won 45-28 Oct 23 @Houston Won 38-20 Week 8 BYE Nov 7 @New England 9:00pm 125 124Nov 13 Houston 1:00pm 709 126 123Nov 20 @Cincinnati 4:15pm 704 103 107Nov 28 Pittsburgh 9:00pm 125 124Dec 4 Tennessee 1:00pm 706 107Dec 11 @Jacksonville 1:00pm 706 181 123Dec 18 San Diego 1:00pm 709 145 121Dec 24 @Seattle 4:15pm 715 127 110Jan 1 Arizona 1:00pm 705 125 126Total .500 or under games =10JacksonvilleSep 11 Seattle Won 26-14 Sep 18 @Indianapolis Lost 3-10 Sep 25 @N.Y. Stripes
We get the more difficult teams at home, but for the most part, you are correct. The only reason we have been hearing all of the easy schedule talk is because we got the easy part early in the year. So far, our schedule has been unquestionably one of the easiest schedules in the NFL. Now it is getting tougher, while the other teams are getting into the easier half of their schedule. We will still be getting most of these comments, but that simply because they were created early in the season and will live through the rest of it. ShulaSteakhouse
The Bengals are a very legit top 5 NFL team, they may be the 5th out of 5, but they are what they are - a very good team.I can't really complain much about that no matter how many weakenesses and holes and skeptical opinions I have about them. Stripes
Look at the remaining schedule for Jacksonville. They play Indy at home, and the rest are pushovers. They have a real chance at 11-5 or 12-4, and that is bad news for us.
