THIS IS A NEG. POST...Handled like little boys

These four failed today and got themselves handled, big-time. Empty uniforms today.

Times like these that Thornton's statement about Corey Simon not being needed just makes me laugh and laugh. Stooge.

Get S. Smith, Askew....ANYBODY in there. Pitiful, just pitiful.

You ain't kidding. Palmer choked!!!!!!!!!!! Worst game from Palmer this year. We will make the playoffs, but we ain't s#%$. No run stop, no nothing. I just don't get how it takes 3 years to fix a run defense. We were treated like little boys today. The Bengal's are up, but not running. Weak schedule. Chris Henry blew it!!!!!!! I'm sick! The Bengal's got bitch-slapped!

You can't fix a run defense if you don't have players. The Bengals probably have one of the worst D-lines in the league, two of the three linebackers are very young and make alot of mistakes.

Knowing the problems that we do have, it is a testament to how good this team can be and how far they have come to be 5-2. Schedule, does not matter, teams play differently from week to week.

I remeber Thorntons statement about Simon and the only reason he said that because he know if Simon was signed his ass wouldof been grass. I think that was th4e biggest mistake of the off-season by not signing him.

Is Cleditus Hunt still available on th FA market? If he is I think we need to pick him up and waive Askew or Smith. He would be a huge addition to our D line.

As for Pollack, I think that he is playiing out of position. Let's face it he is terrible at LB. I know he is new to it but I don't think he will ever be good at it. Why not put him in at DE and keep him there where he was so great in college. He would provide that pass rush that has been absent from these last 7 games.

I thought Pollack was getting to the ball pretty well until he got hurt and Landon Johnson had to come in. Maybe's it just me.

Not just you. I thought Pollack was well on his way to a solid game... I missed his injury, what happened?

Sprained knee, per Hobson. Says he may miss "a few"" games.

<Sigh>

Guys...today was not the D's fault.

Our vaunted offensive machine scored a whopping 13 -- count 'em, 13 -- points. 7 of which came in garbage time when the game was already decided.

When it mattered...the O managed to produce 2 freaking FGs. That's it.

Now, I don't care how good of a defense you've got, you aren't going to win any games with an offense that can't do better than a couple of FGs.

Does the D need work? Most certainly. But it wasnt why we lost today.

I think today was primarily the defense's fault. It all a matter of holding onto Daddy Mo. In the beginning, the offense was at fault for screwing that up with its red zone crap. Later in the game, the defense just seemed to run out of gas. We couldn't stop a single run for the life of us, no matter which Steeler was carrying the ball. I think had the defense stepped up, the offense would have responded in kind.

Well, no duh, they were on the field the whole second half! TOP was something like 22 mins. v. 8. The offense failed to score when it had the chance in the first half, and failed to even hold onto the ball in the second half! The Bengals had just 5 first downs in the second half, 2 of which came on the final meaningless drive wiith less than 3 mins. remaining and the game basically over. No defense on earth is going to win a game when the O performs like that.

Pollack's play was not bad...

Cleditus Hunt failed his physical...

Our defense gave up 7 points the the first half..

Benglas only ran 7 offensive plays in third quarter due to turnovers.

Cant run Rudi when you dont have the ball or are behind by 11 in the fourth quarter.

We need a tight end, defensive tackle and safety to be an elite team

Until then.. enjoy the run for the playoffs.. 6-2 at the half is good.

In most cases a good defense trumps a good offense. Yes, the offense choked in the red zone, but the Bengals lost, because everyone in the building knew the Steelers were going to run and they still could not stop it. They had a week to prepare for the Steelers running game and they could do nothing about it. They just don't have the horses to get it done.

The defense didn't do badly in the first half. It was in the second half when the offense couldn't put 4 freaking plays together without a turnover that the defense started to slide. They were on the field too much, and that leads to more yards vs. them. Had we scored more than 3 points on the first two drives when we were inside the 10 yard line, and had our offense not bungled the entire second half, the defense would have held. The blame for this game falls mainly on the plain ugly offense.
