membengal
...one of the best games I have seen from a cornerback. Two huge plays. Simply huge. Great coverage to force the ball in the air that Thurman returned for a touchdown (the single most important play of the game) and then that pro bowl and then some play to seal the game forcing the ball in the air with the hit, having the presence of mind to snag it and then return it. Absolute quality plays. In the best sense of that term. Phenomenal plays.
turningpoint
I agree He's been my fav player over the past 2 seasons...he's quite does his job, and is rewarded for it.
Stripes
Excellent game from Tory James. Good to see an aging cornerback in on so many big plays. He was so close to getting the first touchdown of his career.
alleycat
I still think he's a little slower and shying away from hits, but it's hard to complain today. I think he deserves credit for a pick rather than a fumple on that play. I'm not sure the receiver had possession long enough to call the fumble. NYBengalfan
OH Hell YEAH, Tory brought da heat in abig way today. He's one of the most disciplined corners in the league. He's what I would call a playmaker.Tory and Deltha will be bringin the heat against the Squeelers next week
BengalszoneBilly
Good to see an aging cornerback in on so many big plays. Aging!?! If he's "aged" it's in the same way you age a fine cut of beef. It's ALWAYS better when it's aged!

wookie
James has been a great FA pick up for the Bengals. I was impressed with his play for the 1st season, and last year he was recognized by the NFL with a selection to the Pro Bowl. I think it would be pretty difficult to try and trash him as a defender, or say that he is too slow. I heard it from a bunch of Raider fans who were telling me that I ought to get used to seeing him getting burned on on a regular basis when we picked him up, and I was able to give them all an I-told-you-so after defending the signing. James has enough experience at his position to compensate for any lack of speed that age may be bringing on. He can still take advantage of some of the faster younger players, and the young QB's in the league. As far as match-ups go...the only one they have coming up that I would like to see him get consistent help with is going to be when the Colts come to town. Manning and Harrison are not young inexperienced players who will fall for James' traps, and can try to take advantage of his speed. Hopefully the Bengals will have Williams back, and Rattliff in as a nickle-back a lot to help out.
membengal
Yeah, he takes a ton of criticism from some, but I honestly don't know what they are looking at. I would be hard pressed to come up with a better free agent signing in this club's history. Matter of fact, I can't. James is by far the most successful free agent the Bengals have ever signed. He has been everything we could have wanted and more at cornerback.
The_Next_Big_Thing
It's not just James. O'Neal is playing well, and so is Ratliff.
Columbusbengal
It's not just James. O'Neal is playing well, and so is Ratliff.Yep, if we could just get Madieu back, our defense would be pretty darn good.

kingwilly
Sorry if it has been discussed...not going diggin for it...BUT WTF was that play where Deltha knocked the ball out when the Titian WR got up without being touched. Was there any explaination on that? I was at the bar with no sound so I could not tell.Looked to me like the guy caught it, thought he was down, then got up as Deltha smacked the ball otu and recovered it. Looked clear cut to me! I think the ball rolled onto the out-of-bounds line before Deltha picked it up. It was a legitimate fumble, but the play was dead before there could be any turnover.
