combatbengal Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Close game today! I submitted a threat a week or so ago about those penalties coming back to bite us. They almost bit us today. The D played great. We still need to work on stopping the run though. The question that I have is what was Palmer thinking when he took that int grounding penalty. Why didn't he throw the ball away earlier? All that aside, we're 4-0 and we won. Quote
smith288 Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Me and my cousin were screaming "THROW IT AWAY CARSON!"Good God that was a horrible display of offense that series. Quote
Stripes Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 That entire drive was already screwed before Carson did that. That was probably his ONLY error all game long, and I love it.7 straight games of at least a 100 passer rating. Let's get our Pro Bowl tickets now. Quote
JPW Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 What was he thinking ?He was running for his freaking life he did good to get away and get the ball off at all.It is still hard for me to see that he was back in the pocket and he had Rudi in the area that he threw to anyway. Quote
combatbengal Posted October 2, 2005 Author Report Posted October 2, 2005 JPW, he had plenty of time to throw it away! Some times he hangs on to the ball to long. Don't get me wrong, he's a great QB. Just scares me some times. Quote
buck3y3d Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 The ruling was the ball did not get back to the line of scrimmage, and no reciever was in the area. Mr. Rudi J was in the area though, and the call was incorrect. He (the official) tried to replay the play in his head, and well, he failed. Quote
alleycat Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 the officiating blew both ways today. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 the officiating blew both ways today.Agreed. Quote
redsfan2 Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 what I'm thinking is ........ 2nd week in a row with touchdown throws ( only 1 this week I know ) and 0 int's. Quote
Stripes Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 what I'm thinking is ........ 2nd week in a row with touchdown throws ( only 1 this week I know ) and 0 int's. That makes for an excellent 9 TDs and 2 INTs on the season, against 3 teams with solid secondaries too. Not only has Palmer picked up where he left off last year, he has exceeded himself. Keep it up buddy, even if it means having a goofy play every week like this one! Quote
derekshank Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 I was at the game, so I didn't get to see a lot of replays from a lot of angles. I agree that Palmer should have thrown it away earlier, but by the looks of it he didn't see how close the 2nd guy was to him, so he thought it would be easier to turn around and make something happen. If his biggest weakness is trying to make something happen on a broken play, then I'll take it. It could have ended in a sack, but instead it ended up in a really bad call. Anyway... Palmer made up for it by getting the mback in field range, despite the infrequent miss by Graham. Quote
Ox Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Just got back from the game, and from Section 317 it sure as hell looked like he was winging it at Rudi! Damn the crowd was loud today! Quote
