He played pretty well today, but i can't help noticing that after both of his TDs he put up a finger to stop celebrating with TJ and Jeremi and do his individual dance/TO impression. I like his on the field play, but his individual celebrations where he is flat out denying teammates, bothers me.

I doubt T.J. or Jeremi were offended by Chad's actions. They know what he loves to do, and they'll just leave him to it. As long as doesn't get us penalized, I'm happy to see him out there having fun.

No, choreographed celebrations get a penalty. Team celebrations are legal. I might be overreacting, but i never was a big fan of the touchdown celebration. I liked the Superbowl shuffle and some other ones, but today's seem a little over the top and out of place.

Someone is going to start this discussion after every CJ TD I'm sure. I say let him have some fun! I don't think he's brushing them off and telling them to get away. I think he's just setting up his celebration. Like Touchdown_Bengals said, I'm sure they aren't offended.

I've never understood why people always criticize touchdown dances and stuff. I agree that props goes over the line. But, football is such an emotion filled sport and when you work all week, then you finally get into the endzone inside a stadium with 60,000+ people going crazy, let them have some fun as long as it doesn't cost the team a penalty.

Funny I was thinking about how the whole team mugged him after his last TD today in the end zone. Lineman ran 50 yards downfield to congratulate him.

I didn't get the impression he was shooing people away...not sure where you get that from.

I got two things to say about this. I'm quite shocked that our own fans are complaining about endzone celebrations after the entire team clearly embraces him RIGHT in the middle of the celebration!

Also, unless we have some current or former NFL players on here, no one has a clue what it would be like to get in the bengals zone. I can't even imagine what it would be like to put your helmet on and go to the end of the tunnel to be announced in your home stadium. Lay off it and let's let this game be fun. If you want calm celebrations on Sunday, go to church! And actually, the big penalty we recieved last year for celebrating was delay of game when chad and TJ and carson were celenrating AFTER a play on their way off the field and we got whistled!

Chad Johnson is an entertainer. He entertains by being a Pro-Bowl receiver who wants to be The Greatest, and by celebrating his hard-earned touchdowns. I can only imagine how much energy you have to feel when you score a touchdown in the NFL. He's not afraid to express his joy and energy, and this is what makes Chad who he is. It's a package deal, take it or leave it!

I have no problem with it. In fact, I'd like to see about 17-20 more "Irish Jigs" this year.
