NJ29
Okay, I know that I've heard that what we need is a big run stuffing safety. However, is it possible, that with the additions of Robinson and Odell, that we *gasp* are a good run stopping team? Is a big, slower safety good for a cover two/ man to man scheme that forced 5 picks last week? Or is Kevin Kaesviharn actually a good strong safety for this football team? He makes tackles when coming up to fill holes and he makes plays in coverage. I believe that it's a legitimate question.
WhoDey93285
I don't think its safe to say we are a godo run stopping team yet. We are giving up a tons of YPC, and even though we haven't given up 100 yards rushing yet, we didn't face particulary great runnings team. And even those teams, when they did run, seemed to run at will.If we can shut down the Ravens/Steelers, then I'll say we're a good run stopping team. If we're depending on a freakin' saftey to get this job done, then we, my friends, are in deep doo-doo.Now don't get me wrong, I certainly don't mind a saftey who can come up and stop a run for no gain with a bone crushing hit, but I don't want him overplaying the run, and leaving the long pass open to get us burned on. I think that happened on the the 1st play from scrimmage in Philly when the secondary got torched by McNabb going deep to T.O.

But we alsohave Odell out there banging out FFs, so I say let 'em run wild as long as they cough up the ball at the end! Seriously, tho, our best run defenders right now are named Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson, Rudi Johnson, etc. The best run defense is a good, high-scoring offense.
