Columbusbengal
Unfortunately, I have to admit I was wrong about him. He was awesome for a second straight game yesterday. He is the number one rated QB so far this season and looks like he is never going to look back. Within a few years, our division probably will have the two best QBs in the league (let's hope the Browns and Ravens win enough games not to get the number one pick this year or our division will eventually have the THREE best QBs in the league). PhunkE1
Ben still hasn't faced a good D yet this year. Let's see what he doesn next week against NE and then we'll talk. The Titans and Texans should be two of the worst this year.
Kazkal
Like phunk said he has faced the titans and texans once he faces NE will talk, also it's still same old steelers from what i've seen relying on their run game http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/493043Palmer has aired it out in more in 1 game then bigben has in
Stripes
Big Ben has looked great, there's no denying it. Still, with his running game to open up the offense, the same old arguments exist. Nest week he will face a better defense, but still not a great defense, in the Patriots. If they can bottle up the run like I think they can, then look for Ben to struggle.

derekshank
I think Roethlisberger is good, in that he does everything they ask him to do. He is really awesome at handing off.He also is good at rolling out and getting the ball in the hands of his receivers 15 times a game. As long as that is all he is asked to do, he will continue posting really high passer ratings, and get more media attention than he deserves. He is good at what he does though. It's hard to deny.On the other hand, Carson Palmer is not asked to merely give the ball to Rudi, and throw the ball 15 times a game. He is asked to carry the team on his back, which has done as well as any QB out there this season. Based on what their roles are, you tell me who the more valuable QB is. And that's why I continue to argue that you MUST keep him tight in the pocket, and pressure from the corners. This demands great coverage and skilled linebackers. He can be rattled, but you have to do it. I doubt any of you got to see the first quarter of the Steeler/Panther preseason game (game 3), but he was as confused as I have seen him. I'm hoping that the Titans and Texans simply didn't have the personnel to duplicate that, because it is surely the recipe ... just like the Pats did last winter. BengalByTheBay
Ben is overrated, no doubt. But whether it is a sign of Cowher learning to better managing his personnel (remember the Queerdell debacle) or whatever, Pitt's making the right moves so far. The model was not broken from last year so they didn't fix it. Until somebody can stop their running game, Ben will continue to have a ridiculous QB rating and minimal attempts per game. Our game plan is to use our talented receivers to convert 3rd downs and shoot for a home run every other series. Their offense can't put that talent on the field at WR and because of their run success, they don't have to. I do think there will be a few teams that can step in and dent that plan -- make him throw from the pocket. Maybe NE can do it, it wouldn't surprise me a bit. There will be others. However, most teams won't be able to stop them on the ground so we will be running after them the whole season. I was hoping for the sophomore slump along with everybody else, but it looks like we're just going to have to be better at our game than they are at theirs. That said, we were competitive straight up with them last year and should be able to match up pretty well again.
DesperateDerelict
Ben is overrated, no doubt.14 3/4 YARDS PER ATTEMPT! 20.5 YARDS PER COMPLETION! OMFG! Are you kidding me?I don't care that opponents have had to play 10 in the box to stop the Squeelers 3rd down back . . . the point is, EVERY time Roethlisberger has dropped back to pass, the Squeelers gain 14.75 yards . . . that's unbe-flippin-leivable!!!It's impossible to UNDERRATE 14.75 YARDS PER ATTEMPT! bengalindian
Yep, he's good. Is he a QB that can bring a team back in the 4th quarter with his arm? Eh, probably not. But does he fit perfectly into Pittsburgh's system? Yes. And until a team can go in and stop the run and force Ben to make tough decisions, the Steelers will keep winning. Stop the run, stop the Steelers.

Of course it's a nice average. Every team they play is doing its best to load up against the run. That he passes sparingly is an incredible understatement and they have not been in a speck of trouble at any point in these two games. There is no way these numbers will average out after even a few more games. That's like saying the Bengals d is going to force 4+ turnovers a game for the whole season. It's not near a big enough pool of numbers to get hysterical about yet and time may tell that they've played two of the bottom 5 defenses. Probably the most important point about being "overrated" and yes I'll say it again, is that everybody says you're the greatest QB of all time. And yeah, that's pretty much what I'm hearing. This guy has had some nice games, but he's not Peyton Manning yet. He hasn't been relied on to win games single handedly and I'm just not sold that he's all world. You are looking at one stat (avg. yards) and so am I (attempts). Neither one tells the whole story. If you think that his completion percentage is representative of what the year will bring, then I disagree with you. That's why I think he's overrated. I guess we'll see if NE (despite this week, I'll still call them a strong d) can bring him to earth and then either you, or I, will probably have to admit we're wrong. HoosierCat
Look, fellas, the logic here is very simple, and completely inarguable:1. The Pittsburgh Steelers suck.2. Ben Roethlisburger is a Pittsburgh Steelers QB.ergo...3. Ben Roethlisburger sucks.Q.E.D.

Don't forget it will be a Patriots team coming off a tough loss and looking to atone for that. Does anyone remember the last time the Patriots have lost 2 straight?(It better not be last year dammit!)
