Still no respect?/Prime time LOVE

Okay.. admittedly Culpepper looked really bad, and that is a noteworthy story for the national media, but that is also the only thing anyone is talking about.

I listned to the game today on the radio, so after the game I was watching ESPNews for highlights so I could see some of the plays I heard, and the only 2 Bengals plays they showed were the TD's to Chad and Housh... and even when showing those they were talking about Culpepper's turnovers.

Who does Marvin have to sleep with to get some recognition? We handed the Vikings their asses today, and ESPN is talking about it like we didn't have anything to do with it. Maybe we'll get some recognition when we are one of the last teams in the league that is undefeated.

I disagree.

Fox: something like "they look a lot better than 8-8, they look like a playoff team."

AP report: "At 2-0 the bengals are for real."

Seriously though, this win was impressive, but the Vikings were horrible. I don't know how much was the Bengals and how much of the credit has to go to the Vikings.

He was referring to ESPN's take, espnews I would assume, and it is a barometer, as they set a real tone because of their breadth of coverage. That said, they cannot cover a lot of ground in their 1/2 hour espnews windows, which is why Berman and PrimeTime Live will be so interesting tonight.

I don't know what channels you all were watching, but the Bengals were covered pretty well.

I agree. In any game where a perennial pro-bowl quarterback throws five interecptions, that quarterback and that team will get most of the press. The Bengals didn't any more of the short end of the stick here than any toher team would have.

For example, Peyton Manning throws four interceptions two season ago in the AFC Championship against the Patriots. Far more attention is payed to Peyton's poor game than was payed to tte Patriots' tough win.

I agree. A good 90% of what I've seen since the games end has been pretty positive stuff, and rest assured...I'm soaking all of it up. It's been wayyyy too long since the gravy's been this good. Now excuse me while I go get somemore biscuits to soak up the rest of this stuff! MMMMmmmmm!

BTW...a big welcome back to the recently MARRIED!!! not another. I'm thinking more than a few hearts will be broken around here upon hearing that news! :D

Who cares what the media says? We know the Bengals are the best team in the league this year. We OWNED the Vikes today, and I don't know if there's any team that can stop us. 16-0 and Super Bowl champs!!!!!

Some people around here have been questioning the love granted from the media to the Bengals. Well, the Bengals highlights led off Prime Time, and Carson got TJ's "game ball." The highlights were all pro-Bengals, many positive comments about both offense and defense, and the tone was more of what the Bengals were doing rather than Minny's problems. They only did a brief bit at the end regarding Culpepper's 5 INTs.

Berman stated unequivocally, "I don't care who they played, the Bengals are for real."

A long time (15 yrs) coming, but the Bengals are getting recognized, and it doesn't have this "it's only crappy teams" vibe.

The Bengals will get their props when they go 4-0 going into their ESPN Sunday night game against Jacksonville. ESPN will promote the hell out of the undefeated Bengals.

Gotta beat the Bears and Texans first, but we should do both. This is looking to become a very fun year.

4-0 on primetime would be wonderful.

Haha not to ruin your fun or anything here, but the Bengals have been getting respect for the past three years since Marvin Lewis has come along.

Not from ESPN, especially not from Berman!

Berman just had the Bengals featured as "Halftime Heros!" I'm going to go lay down now.
