duus
Man, I really don't want to whine, but ... well ... I suppose that's what it might sound like. I'm sure most of you are familiar with John Clayton's First And Ten every week - First And Ten . It's where he supposedly "takes you around the league, with a look at the best game of the week, followed by primers for 10 other games". OK, so surely the Colts/Jags game is the game of the week. This should be a tremendous game. And I know that he only claims to choose 10 other games as 'primers', but given that their are only 15 other choices, it stands to reason that the 10 he chooses should have some significance. If not, then just 'prime us' on all remaining 15! So ... look at some of those games. Rams/Cards, Lions/Bears, and Steelers/Texans. Really? But not Vikings/Bengals? Both the Vikings and Bengals already seem better than Rams, Cards, Bears, and Texans at least. When these two teams matchup, it has to be worth mentioning. Well, respect will come in due time. I just hope we get off to that 6-0 or 5-1 start that I so desperately want. That will surely make these guys jump on our wagon.
bengalindian
OK, I understand most of those except the Lions/Bears game. Really? Da Bears? They are probably going to end up in top 5 of the draft next year, and the Lions have much more to prove as an up and coming team than the Bengals. WTF, Clayton? It's just funny to see the analysts who know everything about football to continually ignore the Bengals, but they just need to wait a few more weeks before people everywhere start to feel the heat of the jungle. Bitches.
duus
The basic issue I have with these matchups is that they are 'games'. Not TEAMS! Fine, highlight the Steelers, and maybe even the Rams, etc. But what GAME of this list (and there are arguably others) is a better MATCHUP than the Vikings/Bengals? You can find better teams in the list, but last I checked, games included TWO teams ... and on that alone I see our matchup as better and more meaningful. HairOnFire
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The ONLY thing that matters is Peter King's opinion. Everything else is just noise.

Stripes
On sportscenter salisbury picked the best game this week to be the bengals/minnesota game. Salisbury has been a Bengals supporter under Marvin Lewis, and he's a former Viking. He, Chris Mortensen, and maybe Ron Jaworski are the only ESPNites that will pay us any attention. Good to hear he's putting our name out there.
MacD BengalFan
Until the Bengals get out from the shadow of the Bungles era, the media will not show much respect to them. I would not listen to any of them because of that lack of respect. The only one that has been on the Bengals bandwagon is Sean Salisbury. He has been saying for the past couple of years to pay attention to the Bengals. But the rest of the talking heads won't listen until Sean is proven right. Which will be very soon. Stripes
I honestly prefer the Bengals are ignored. I don't want any publicity going to their heads. I want them fully motivated to get into the spotlight, as they certainly are this year.
