I want to thank God and Marvin and the scouting department for drafting Odell Thurman. Our Befense finally has some nastiness and attitude. If watching Thurman destroy people and tell them about it didn't give all you fans goosebumps, check your freaking pulses! We FINALLY have our Ray Lewis, our difference maker, our defensive leader. Think it's too early to heap all this on a rookie? I don't, and I'm ready for the defensive rookie of year talk to get started!

Who-F'in-Dey!

 He had a good game, even though he looked lost on some plays, but dont go saying hes better than Takeo Spikes yet. Spikes is a premier LB in the NFL. Odell looks to be good, but hes not Takeo Spikes.

Well then it's a good thing that NOBODY SAID HE WAS BETTER. All I'm saying is that Odell Thurman can finally make the fans forget about Takeo and all the "What if we had Takeo anchoring the defense for the past two years" talk.

Yeah people shouldn't get carried away, but I think they were just meaning to say that Odell will make us forget about the loss of Takeo, not that he is as good.

Odell looked tired late in the 2nd quarter though, but out of all the LB's he made the most plays and was the most productive.

He'll soon be a premiere NFL LB and can see where he could be great in a couple of years.

IMO he is MUCH better than pollack

Whoa there. This is one game. Yes, Odell looked great, but there is a reason why Pollack got all the accolades and awards at Georgia. There'll be other games where you'll say "IMO he [Pollack] is MUCH better than Odell" ... ;)

Odell was the MVP of the defense today, no doubt about that, but we've yet to see what Pollack has to offer.

In limited playing time, he tied for second on the team in tackles with six (Odell had seven). When given more time to learn the position and play more often during games, he'll be excellent to help out that non-existent pass rush we saw today.

Odell looks awesome, and he may very well be better than Pollack, but let's wait and see.

He is, however, as good as Spikes was his rookie year. Frankly, I think he's BETTER than Spikes was his rookie year.

I thought it was funny when Thurman drilled Hiedan on a pass Hiedan caught for the first down, and Odell started talking about of smack to Heidan. Heidan just looked at him and was like 'Hey Rook, I got the first down.' I thought that was pretty funny.

Anyways, yes, Odell looked VERY good. The INT was exceptional.

Yeah, that was hilarious. In other words, I hit you as hard as I could, I was really pleased with myself, and it wasn't enough to knock the ball loose. Don't think I'd be running my mouth then, I'd probably wait.

Yeah, its too early.

Dawg, you started off your comment with 'I want to thank God'. "Whatever man"

He looked extremely good, but man, it was the Browns we were against.

And you can tell all this only with his first game?

*SCREEEECH* Slow down, baby.

I mean, don't get it twisted. I'm a big fan of O'Dell, and I think he had a great game. But I know how this game (posting on Bengalzone) goes. The minute he screws up, the SAME folks who are fluffing him now will be calling for his head.

Welcome to Opening Kickoff Bi-Polar disorder.

From todays games ..........

Spikes had 3 tackles .. 2 assists ... and a sack.

Thurman had 6 tackles 1 assist and an int.

Whether he is better than Spikes now ... or even if he is better than Spikes was as a rookie is debateable ....... One thing is certain tho ...... and that is he was better than Spikes Today. B)

Folks, chill out. Odell is a very good rookie, and I'm so happy he's playing for the Bengals. HOWEVER, the Bengals played the Browns today, who looked exactly like the Bungles of old. Penalties on crucial plays, bad decision making, and inexperience. Don't overhype this with "ODell is God"-like statements.

Oh, and WHO DEY. Carson and company looked gooooood.

Yes, but you got to like the fact that he was fired up about the hit he put on him. After the past couple of years of watching the LB's get burned up and down the field, it was refreshing to watch a rook on the D getting things fired up.
