MacD BengalFan
Spain feels a 10-6 record will not allow the Bengals to make the playoffs. I totally disagree as both Pittsburg and Baltimore have certain issues that may preclude them from making it. So which is it? Do the Bengals make the playoffs with a 10-6 record or do they go home with the first winning record in 15 years?
rizzy
I think 10-6 is very likley to make the playoffs. You can't just rule it out and say no way. Anything is possible in the nfl.
redsfan2
Yeah ... I think ( think ) 10 and 6 makes the playoffs.Depending on how we get to that 10 and 6 we either take the division or get the wildcard ..... either way tho ......... Bengals4Me
When was the last time a 10-6 team didn't make it into the playoffs? I don't remember it happening.
BengalsFanForever
Since 2002, wildcards have been 10-6 and 9-7. Why not this year?
DC_Bengals_Fan
Spain feels a 10-6 record will not allow the Bengals to make the playoffs. I totally disagree as both Pittsburg and Baltimore have certain issues that may preclude them from making it. So which is it? Do the Bengals make the playoffs with a 10-6 record or do they go home with the first winning record in 15 years?I think there's about a 1 in 3 chance that some AFC team will sit home at 10-6, and about a 100% chance that at least one 9-7 team will. 10-6 has missed the playoffs though it's rare - but as strong as the AFC is, the chance is as good this year as it ever is.If the Bengals are 10-6 and it comes down to tiebreakers with another AFC team, they go with AFC record, which hurts the Bengals - the NFC schedule (NFC north) is the softest part of their schedule. If it comes down to being tied with BAL or PIT - well, just hope we take care of the divisional games, eh?My feeling is that 10-6 will probably make it, but it's not guaranteed. I think it'll be hard at 9-7.
Spain
Im going to have to keep this post around for a long time to make you guys reflect. Our Division is brutal! Hell the AFC is brutal. Just add up the numbers their is no wild card in our division it sucks but thats the way it is!
membengal
Bengals went 10-6 in 1986 and missed the playoffs.Just sayin'.
Stripes
Nine times outta ten, I'd think 10-6 makes the playoffs (if somone wants to disprove that estimate, feel free ). In our case, I think 10-6 would win the division, so yes is my answer.
Turi
When was the last time a 10-6 team didn't make it into the playoffs? I don't remember it happening. I'm sure it happened to Miami a few years back. They got a 10-6 record but never even earned a wildcard spot. It's rare but it does happen. DesperateDerelict
Not in the AFC - Teams LIKELY to exceed 10 wins: Pats, Colts, ChargersTeams that could easily exceed 10 wins: Squeelers, Ratbirds, Jets, Chiefs, Jags, and our beloved Bengals. Bottom Line: 10 - 6 will probably have to win tiebreakers to get into playoffs.
clevelandbengal
I think 10-6 wins the AFC north. The Steelers will have a slump this year. The Ravens still have Kyle Boller. And the Browns... well they are the Browns

I agree... that's why I was saying that depending on how we arrive at 10 and 6 will determine how we make the playoffs .......... If we do. Mad Dog
if,If, IF, IIIFFFF Our Bengals go 10-6, ( and I believe they will, but Ive been a Bengals fan for so long...) I believe the whole deal will come down to Bengals vs. Ravens. Hell, if the Bengals go 10-6, this town will go crazy anyway!
Spain
True its going to come down to tie breakers! If we dont make it we can call it a moral victory
LesterLyles
The last few years, experts keep saying the AFC needs more than 10 wins. as most of you have touched on, 9 out of 10 times 10 is enough. I remeber in late November last year, folks were saying 11-may not be enough. In the nd, 10 will almost certainly get you in.
