gobengals19 Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Anyone else concerned that our stud FS has yet to play a down, doesnt plan to play Friday and hasnt practiced in quite some time??I had high hopes for this secondary with Madieu in there, KK just doesnt cut it anymore. I mean he his serviceable but I believe Madieu changes the gameplans of opposing offenses. Quote
skyline Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 I don't think it'll take him long to get adjusted once he returns... Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Not a good thing at all. He's missed just about all of training camp and now 3/4's of the preseason.Just worried about how long it'll take him to get back in shape once he's healthy.Hate these mysterious injuries the players here seem to have anymore...granted the HIPAA thing is the reason for it. But this has to be more serious than just a "strained or sore" hamstring.Disappointing. Quote
HoosierCat Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Disappointing. Yup. It certainly doesn't help to have questions at FS when you aready have issues at SS... Quote
bengalsLB Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 without madieu our D will be s**t Quote
gobengals19 Posted August 24, 2005 Author Report Posted August 24, 2005 Figures too. I just bought a Orange #40 jersey earlier this year too. Its truly all my fault guys. Quote
DC_Bengals_Fan Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Disappointing.Yup. It certainly doesn't help to have questions at FS when you aready have issues at SS...That's one of the big holes I was really hoping they'd address in the draft. I can't help thinking we needed another safety more than a 4th-5th receiver. Oh well. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Figures too. I just bought a Orange #40 jersey earlier this year too. Its truly all my fault guys. Did you keep the receipt? Take it back! Quote
walshfan Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Could be their holding Williams hold as precautionary measures to let that hammy heal up as they are with Levi... Quote
Killing Time Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 without madieu our D will be s**t I agree completely. I with young LBs and a d-line that doesn't look like it will dominate too many games, I think Madieu is a must for this D to help us win some games Quote
JPW Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Has there been any word from any source that Madieu will not be ready for the regular season ? Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Anyone else concerned that our stud FS has yet to play a down, doesnt plan to play Friday and hasnt practiced in quite some time??I had high hopes for this secondary with Madieu in there, KK just doesnt cut it anymore. I mean he his serviceable but I believe Madieu changes the gameplans of opposing offenses. I'm not worried that the guy who, fresh from college, came into camp ready to be a starting safety, stepped in and played corner because our corners were hurt, then moved to strong safety and finally to free safety and was pretty darned good at all of them is injured. He's being held out right now because it's better for him to miss preseason and be 100% for the start of the regular season when he will be in his natural position, where he excelled at the end of last season than it is for him to get some preseason time and be at 90%.As for KK, he just doesn't cut it anymore when he's having the best pre-season he's ever had? When he's just coming in to his own? Down be surprised if you see him become the free safety and Madieu at strong soon. KK is always around the ball. He tackles better than most of our guys on the dline, and I'll take him any day, especially at his price. As they say in the land downunder, No Worries Mate! Quote
Bengals4Me Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Weren't they saying "back spasms" were the hang-up with Madieu W.? Those can be painful and nagging/lingering, but shouldn't be disabling. I can't help but believe that if this was a regular season game that he would be in there. In the meantime, I agree that KK is a decent playmaker and seems reliable. I agree at this point - No Worries (about this anyway). Quote
oldschooler Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 I hope he will be fine come September 11th.What gets me is they say he is missing becauseof a hamstring one day and because of his back the next.I guess it could be both...either way I just hope he is healthy soon. We NEED him ! Quote
Spain Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 You guys really dont think that the stars when they have the slightest complaint in preseason they dont play ,You guys are crazy. If you fart an your M williams you dont play! Quote

DontTakeAkili Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 If the Bengals have to start Kaesviharn, we are screwed (not literally). I mean, does anyone else remember Kase trying to COVER a receiver? He looked like a newborn calf wobbling around. He plays hard and get a few good tackles, but there is no way that a defense that starts him can be considered playoff caliber. Quote

walshfan Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 I dont think KK is terrible either... I think the play ( or rather non-play ) of him getting steamrolled by Jamal Lewis has left an everlasting impression that this guy is some kind of cupcake out there....He isnt a cupcake by any means.. Lewis has put a lick on alot of safties in the NFL... Thats why he is one of the few runners to gain 2000 yards in a season...I see KK as a player that doesnt have a wealth of talent but gives the effort and has good instincts to play at a level that wont hurt the team.....Alot of safties have come and gone and he's still here so he cant be as bad as alot of posters make him out to be.....I think he's one of those guys that posters feel comfortable knocking on..... derekshank Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 I think Madieu has to be the FS regardless of who the SS is. That is where he will be best served, since he has CB abilities. KK can play SS if necessary... he's got more weight to him than Madieu too. Williams only weighs 195, whereas KK weighs a whopping 196. Quote
