Wraith Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 Man, some of you need to Research Bengals history. Coy Bacon had an estimated 26 sacks one year but because sacks were "unofficial stats" he does not hold the record http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_..._111265554/pg_2. He, Ken Riley, an Mike Reid (who retired to become a concert pianist) are the first places you need to start when talking about All-Bengal defense. Frankly the best Bengals QB might have been Greg Cook who had one of the greatest rookie years in NFL history and then damaged his ACL which at the time was a career ending injury. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 I debated a lot putting Justin Smith in over Coy Bacon, but the I think by the end of his career, Smith will have more tackles and sacks than Bacon. As for Geathers, maybe I'm crazy, but I think he will be in the HOF. Quote
jrandom42 Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 Frankly the best Bengals QB might have been Greg Cook who had one of the greatest rookie years in NFL history and then damaged his ACL which at the time was a career ending injury. Actually, it was a shoulder injury, which was diagnosed much later as a torn rotator cuff. Is it my imagination, or are there way too many similarities to Greg Cook and Carson Palmer? Quote
Stripes Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 I see a lot of modern players on this list. How can Chris Perry be on anyone's list? C'mon now! 2 carries in his recorded career, and less than a 4 yard per carry average during the preseason. Quote
combatbengal Posted August 22, 2005 Author Report Posted August 22, 2005 Hey, that's not as bad as putting David Klingler in as QB. I noticed a lot of people picked Jim Breech and not shane o matic! Quote
Ox Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Well, how Boomer is not on your list I just don't know. Also, Jim Breech still gets my nod for PK. Quote
