Ox
Just wondering, Did anyone else almost piss themselves when Carson went down with the kneebrace problem? I swear I thought I saw the season flash before my eyes before he got back up. Maybe it was just me, but I couldn't believe he came back in. I bet Marvin's a** got a little tight when he first saw our Golden Boy holding his knee.
BengalsMan3203
Yah, I was worried till he started running...
KiLBurn
Yeah, that scared the hell out of me too... Was it just me or did he have a huge scar on his knee when they zoomed in on it ?
HairOnFire
I hate the idea of that guy running with the ball. I'm thrilled that he lost weight and the results show. He's quicker and faster. Seems more willing to take off and gain the easy yards when a play breaks down. That said, I still hate it everytime he takes off. Roll out and throw is fine by me even if it results in a ball thrown into the stands. And so is a short run that ends with Palmer getting down on the ground early. But that crap last night only serves as a reminder that Palmer isn't a quick twitch athlete. "...a bag of laundry thrown down a flight of stairs." jjakq27
When they zoomed in on his leg, I thought it was a bone sticking out of his knee.
BengalPappaw
I'm just glad he had the knee brace on -- that might have been his leg bone sticking out! I like Palmer's mobility -- even with the knee brace.I hope he continues to wear the brace during the season -- and that the Bengals get stronger up the middle to prevent the opponent's D-line from getting to Palmer's legs. As I recall, Palmer got hurt when tthe center of the line allowed a D-lineman to bust up the middle and plow into Palmer's knee.
7/11
yeah, i was at argosy last night, occasionally checkin the game. i was over there after halftime and this dude turns to us like, "ay, you hear anything about carson's knee? i heard they carted him off the field...blah yak blah blah.." i seriously forgot about all the cheddar i'd been winnin at the blackjack table and damn near puked. rest of the night, i was pretty bummed out. kind of pathetic really...like a kid who watched his cat get run over. had to sleep with those demons too, then as soon as i got home tonite from work and could get on the website, i was really flippin relieved. i did take solice in the fact that kitna's still packin stripes, though. i'm gonna go watch the game now. kentjett
Palmer has the worst sliding technique I've ever seen,he's going to get a major injury if he don't learn how to slide better.
Stripes
I wasn't too worried about it. It didn't take long for him to get up and walk under his own power. I just didn't want to see him fall down and stay down for ten minutes. His knee did look a little banged up on the close up, but not to worry. Jonboat
Palmer has the worst sliding technique I've ever seen,he's going to get a major injury if he don't learn how to slide better. Maybe we could buy him a slip & slide so he can work on that I'm glad he had the brace because from the looks of the damage to the brace he would've had a serious injury!! GO BENGALS!!! ShulaSteakhouse
Guys who are 6'5" can't slide, that's the problem I think.
cincy90
I also had just about enough of the Redskins diving in head-first when Carson was taking a slide. At least one a$$hole looked like he got a head to head shot on him when he was already down. I thought they called penalties for that in the regular season, much less the preseason. Just another typical preseason all-american.
Redlegs
This is my first post. Be patient as I feel my way through.Palmer definately freaked me out when he got up with his brace mangled. Scared me with the late slide as well when he got clocked in the head.

Just another typical preseason all-american.At least one of those should have been called, Carson went down early enough for the defender to stop and, as you say, the guy went in helmet first. From what I've seen so far this preseason in a number of games, the refs aren't doing a good job on calling the helmet-to-helmet. Seems they only have the attention span to focus on what the competition committee called them out for the previous year. So this year we'll see a lot of cut-block and horse-collar calls, and probably little else.Regardless, Carson does need to learn to slide earlier and better now that he's convinced himself he's Michael Vick. And I'm gonna kill him if he scrambles again at all before the regular season. HairOnFire
Guys who are 6'5" can't slide, that's the problem I think. One of the reasons I'm not as big a fan of Palmer running more often as others seem to be. Watching him trying to slide before contact is like watching a redwood fall. Slow and majestic until....BOOM!!!!!

Homer Rice was our coach.
