andybren
I didn't see this anywhere on the board, or on Bengals.com for that matter, but Freddie Milons got cut today.Fox SportsSo I guess that's one less guy to beat out PDub. DontPushMe
Heh, our second best receiver doesnt even play WR! You know who it is.You mean Tory James? Chris PerryI know you are being sarcastic, but others might not figure it out because of what you said, so i guess i have to make it more clear. The Big Orange
Maybe they figured out how to use a white WR! Spain, I'm just going to say this one time...GET YOUR ASS TO CHURCH!(that goes for you too, Pushy)
The_Next_Big_Thing
Ive never been a Walter fan because he has butter hands! But the guy looks like he has had a great offseason and fixed the problem! Now we will have to see what he does the rest of the preseason but this guy could very well beat out Washington as or third WR, or be the second te isn the 3 wr , 2 te set. Might be a great fantasy pick up!If you think ANY #3 WR's are good fantasy pickups, then I need to join your league. Hell, the 4th string Colts WR might be a good fantasy pickup.... If the #1 and the #2 get hurt!Seriously, depending on who your #1 and #2 wrs are, having a 3rd stringer who backs them up can be a good pickup. For example, I picked up Marshall Faulk late in the draft to back up Stephen Jackson, just in case Jackson is hurt. membengal
As luck would have it, DPM also thinks that Perry is the best quarterback on the roster too.To echo Hair, pretty stout stuff from a guy who called Perry a wasted draft pick and that the Bengals would have been better off not picking at all. bengalboomer7
Sorry Big O, I think church is just God's marketing department(not all, but a lot just want that collection plate full) Churches have become too businesslike and I think the real message gets lost in building funds, church bake sales, and fundraisers, etc. Everytime I talk to any pastor, priest, reverevd, I feel like I'm being recruited. In any case, sorry for the rantCJTJI think Warrick is here to stay and Be the third recieverKWWalter HenryI've been hearing that the Bengals really like Ronnie Ghent and he can play both tight end and fullback. I think this is bad news for Schoebel and would free up that roster spot to keep seven recieversThe one thing I don't like about this lineup is that Walter is the only guy that plays special teams. One injury and our special teams could be really hurt

In any case, sorry for the rant Don't tell me, you're sorry...I'm the one who's sorry...because you are so right. My folks, who live in Hamilton, go to the kind of church you describe and I was trying to find them a single church in the greater Cincy area to go to...and I could only find one...that's pretty sad, out of the hundreds of churches...it's like winning the lottery, your odds are bad.Everytime I talk to a "Christian" not just a minister, I feel like I'm on an opposing team because I don't go to their church...it's stupid and it sucks. I despise the whole "recruitment" feeling, 'cause I've felt that a ton, too.You said something a while back about me being too nice...that's probably true...but what's wrong with that? It's not because I'm a minister...I just find the whole, keeping a chip on my shoulder, exhausting. This forum is full of hateful people...is there not room for a couple of nice guys, kind of like a change of pace? KiLBurn
Well, we have 2 more weeks to debate this... lets just see who shows up for practice this week... Anyone else notice who didn't practice Sunday or today?
HoosierCat
Anyhow, back on the topic, Warrick didn't practice today per bengals.com. And he skipped pratice Sunday "to rest his knee," according to the Enquirer. Don't know if the knee is acting up (kinda doubt it since he didn't see all that much time vs. DC and didn't do much but run around) or if the Bengals are just being cautious. FWIW. Considering that Marvin has stated that PW has to practice every day, the writing may not be on the wall, but the cap is definitely off of the pen.I would again like to take this opportunity to thank the Bengals medical staff for ruining another career! HoosierCat
hobson update...WR Peter Warrick didn’t dress for the second straight practice, but head coach Marvin Lewis said it has nothing to do with his knee. Lewis called it "a slightly tender hamstring," and wouldn't comment on his status for Friday night’s preseason game in Philadelphia except to say, "He's fine." Gee, I dunno...how many different diagnoses did our (on) crack med staff give Marvin? Warrick tweaked a hammy. Is that so surprising, given that he only got cleared to practice a few days ago? KiLBurn
Like I said earlier, we have 2 weeks (maybe less) until we know how it all pans out. My money is on Warrick not being on the team.

MacD BengalFan
PDub is on barrowed time. I felt he was gone on June 1 after the Bengals drafted Chris Henry. But now I believe the he will be gone before Cleveland because he cannot get healthy. He cannot practice, as Mavin wants. He didn't play against New England, and barely played vs the Redskins. If he continues to miss practice and pre-season games, consider him exiting the building without his Bengal stipes. :player:

My money is on Warrick not being on the team. And as I've said, I think Warrick will make the team as long as his knee is healthy.I just don't see much upside to letting a healthy Warrick go. With him gone, our WR depth is two rooks (Henry and Tab Perry, who's been hurt) and your choice of career scrubs. And while they might be able to use that $2.2 million to extend someone...who? Willie and his oft-injured knee? Steinbach and his Tommy Johned elbow? Is Levi worth starting left tackle money? Is Justin Smith worth starting DE money?
schweinhart
At this point, only Levi seems like he could be a contract extension factor in what happens to P-Dub if the Bengals prize the money over the man (provided the man is indeed healthy enough to play --and a very big if considering how long he's been out now). The reason there is the LT money. It's just at a different level and even viable above average play with consistency over the course of a few seasons is enough to command a huge payday for LTs.While that might compel the Bengals to sign him up, another factor is that he's still got 2 years to go on his contract. With that said, I still don't think P-Dub will make the final cut. I just hope he does.

Not til they see if it is healthy.Steinbach and his elbow? Yes, right away. Now. Before he shows he is healthy and his price tag jumps. I think they can get him at a discount.Smith starting DE money? Yes, IMO. I am not one of those who is constantly disappointed with him. In fact, watching him range from sideline to sideline stuffing running plays this preseason has been fascinating. Levi starting LT money? Wait and see. Let the year play out. I think he is, but a little more on the field would be nice before that trigger is pulled. Nice list of questions, joisey. I am wondering just how long Marvin will tolerate this ongoing injury and all of the precautions about another injury. The average player would not get by with all of the rest and recuperation that Warrick receives. Seems like something is ALWAYS wrong with this guy. Does he call the shots about when he wants to practice, or is Marvin being overly cautious? I would think this could lead to a serious morale problem when the players see one guy constantly being pampered. Yes, Warrick was a great player, but I'm wondering if he is just a wuss. Most players practice and play with injuries; Warrick must be fragile... at least his ego.

Willie and T.O. have what in common? I know they both play football and all, but why else are they being mentioned in the same sentence? Having a decent backup for your aging, recovering veteran doesn't mean said veteran was looking to hold the team hostage. Have a little respect for one of the classiest guys in the locker room, okay?As for all the Warrick second-guessing...I understand the doubts about Warrick's future with the team (though I whole-heartedly disagree with them), but how does missing a practice or two after being out for 10 months make you injury prone, a coddled baby, or a potential morale problem? There's an old truism about how when you see hoofprints you should first think 'horse', not 'zebra'. I think you guys would love for Warrick to become a problem with absolutely no real reason to think that he will be. He's not a zebra. And if he truly becomes a problem in some way, it won't be in Week 3 of the pre-season. You guys are definitely jumping the gun.
