andybren Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 Landon Johnson. He's just too versatile. With the development of 2 rookie starters and the ever-present threat of injury, you can't underestimate the value of a guy who can play three different positions without missing a beat. If (God forbid) Madieu did go down, I wouldn't be suprised if LJ got reps at safety, too. He could probably kick PAT's, if he had to. Quote
Stripes Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 As of right now, I think it would hurt the most to lose Madieu. A 100 tackle caliber player with no real depth behind him at the position is vital to our success, and he plays SS and CB on occassion. Landon is up there too for the same reason. Quote
Wraith Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 No depth? What about Kaesviharn! just joking. Most important player on defense? We have lots of important players, the Corners have some depth though we'd be in trouble if Deltha and Keiwan both went out. From a depth perspective we have depth on the D-Line such as it is, I don't see a big drop off in talent from Bryan Robinson to Langston Moore (unfortuneately). Thinking about this I too have to agree with Madieu simply because there is nobody else on the roster that can do what he does. Quote
TJJackson Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 The most important positions on our D this year are the two tackles, with Bryan Robinson (or whoever is lined up at his spot on any given down) being the more important of the two.Our defense this year will live or die in the trenches. The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 No depth? What about Kaesviharn! just joking. After watching the game tonight, that might not be as big a joke as you thought! KK played well tonight, and showed if noone else on the freaking defense can tackle, he can.PS: Odell Thurman just made my #1. That boy has mad hops and if he gets more time and plays like he was, he's going to be a monster. I hope they swap he and Landon in and out at MLB with the defensive plays and really change things up. Quote
