walzav29
If this happens again, it's going to be armageddon. I will be majorly disappointed. I don't believe it will happen, but if it does happen is Bengaldom going to turn on Marv? Lot of pressure.
rizzy
We shouldn't even be talking abou this now because it's not going to happen. If after the first 5 games we are 1-4 then we can post this topic up and talk about it.

If after the first 5 games we are 1-4 then we can post this topic up and talk about it. It won't be an issue then either, because if we go 1-4 against the Browns, Vikings, Bears, Texans, and Jaguars... many of the die hard fans on this site will have slit their wrists, making typing on a Bengals forum impossible. cincyhokie
Not going to happen. We're 3-2 at the 5 game mark, at the worst.

Might was well ask this question.Should we hit the panic button if Marvin Lewis has a meteorite fall on his head and a 16 wheeler crashes through the practice field on a Saturday injuring all of our starters, and the only players left uninjured are Chris Perry and Peter Warrick because they weren't able to dress for practice? WillisXPress
You should beat the bears and the browns... but none of the other games are locks... and if the bears game is in CHI that could be tough too...3-2, 2-3... thats what you'll be
rizzy
We are going to be 4-1. Everyone is thinking a loss will come against minnesota. I don't think we will lose that being the home opener it is going to be crazy in there. I can't wait.
gobengals19
F#$^ that, I think we will be 5-1/6-0 heading into the Steelers game. Minnesota lost alot with Moss and they still have to integrate new DEF players. Lets see how that offense does without their megastar player.I am also not overly impressed with Jax, especially Leftwich. I know he is a winner but I just dont see the talent in him or on their offense that we have. I think that this will be our toughest game until Pitt. All of the other games we have more than a 50% chance of winning based on the team we are playing and/or home vs away.

I thought Minnesota would be in trouble without Moss, and the RB by committee, but their defense is so much improved that they will just win games differently. So it will be a battle of strong offense vs strong defense and middle of the pack defense vs middle of the pack offense. Being our home opener I give us the advantage... but it's isn't a gimme. The Cleveland, Chicago, Texas, and Tennessee games should all be wins. But we are on the road against Jacksonville, and like it or not, they are a decent team. So I'd say we should definetely be favored in 4 for sure... the other 2 games are up for grabs.
redsfan2
If we go 0 and 1 by losing the opener to the Browns, Id' say we bypass the panic button and just hit the self destruct button. The only thing more embarrassing than losing to the Browns would be losing to the Bills.

How would a mass suicide in Buffalo ruin my Christmas?I'm sorry, Willis, but Buffalo isn't beating us this year. Much as they aren't going to beat alot of other teams this year. Oh, and we will be 2-3 at the absolute worst after week 5. I see us at 3-2 or 4-1, but 1-4 won't happen.

ArmyBengal
It would just about kill me to go 1-4 and I would be pissed off. I don't know about how it would affect Marvin, but there would definitely be some questions raised about the organization. I for one don't want to always have the talent and never see results.. See the Saints for that...WHODEY !!!

Losman better be pulling a Rothesburger for the Bills to be smelling anything over 8-8. I'm putting my money on the Bengals who have returned ALL 11 starters on offense....unless the game is meaningless as the Bengals have already clinched the playoffs and home field advantage by then

I know you've improved, your offense is scary...but....Our D is dominant, we have so much speed at Wr, and we have Willis. Losman may struggle, but by the time we play you guys he'll either have improved a bunch, or Holcomb will be starting....I think, of the last few times we've played, this will be your best chance to beat us, but I wouldn't start PLANNING on beating the Bills... we aren't f#@*king around this season, Spikes is mad, Big Sam is mad, Nate Clements is in a contract year... Our secondary mathces up really well with your O... its gonna be a great game, I'll be there... what more do you need.
Who?
Willis is right, I do think that the Bills and Bengals will be a tough matchup. Their defense is dominant, and Mcgahee is ready to dominate as well. Losman to me was a good pick, I think he will do decent this year. The Bills will edge it out in this one. WillisXPress
In all honesty... gulp... I can see the bengals wining just as much as I can see the Bills wining... it really depends on our offense. The Bengals are way past due beating us (its BS playing in the natti twice in a row, but whattayagunnado) they have a dynamic offense, and the D should be improved...But if Losman starts getting it by then, we have offensive weapons to counter the scoring of Cincy, and our D is flat out nasty.... Plus, you'd be mad too if you jumped ship from a team that couldn't buy a win to a team that was supposed to be on the rise but suddenly failed to live up to expectations. Especially mad when you watched the team you jumped ship from improve dramatically.
