bengalsLB
people chill out camp hasn't been open for a week and people are freakin out cause pollacks not in camp he is gonna get there eventully and when he does he is gonna be great.... this might be a blessing indisguies cause if pollack dosen't report soon landon will start the for pollack while pollack learns everthing and we can ease him into the starting line up by mid season which would cutdown on rookie mistake and help us get off to a fast start

brooklyn_bengalfan
I'm with you man.I'd love to have the kid in camp ASAP, but no one should be attacking him personally for not signing. None of us know what terms have been put in front of him, and I imagine everyone here has never been in the position he's in right now. If anyone here has been drafted in the first round, I'm all for hearing what it was like getting that first contract negotiated. :player: As to how the Landon / Pollack transition would go, I think we need to remember Landon -- although talented -- isn't exactly a veteran himself. I would like to see him be able to focus on one of the postiions and develop. It worries me a bit that every other story I read has him slotted in on the side, or in a battle with O'Dell in the middle. I wonder which position he would truly prefer. Hmmm. The Big Orange
I am freaking out, and I like it. I'm about a day away from eating nothing but salads until Pollack signs. If he isn't on the field when I see the Patriots preseason next week (got 2 tickets off ebay for 21 bucks a piece), then I'll be the guy rushing the field in an orange poncho with nothing else on...will somebody please Tivo that for me? Spain
Let me see? We dont have a SAM and this guy knows it! The arssshole is breaking our balls because he knows we need him! We need to move on ! This Arse hole knows Landon is hurting and we cant replace him so he is milking us for what he is worth and more! No franchise can take this! I'll be happy to. Only one question -- who will you be running at?I suggest trying to get to Brady. I would like to see how close you get! brooklyn_bengalfan
We need to move on ! Dude, Spain. Seriously, relax. This is your idea of vacation? I wonder what happens when you're at work / school / or whatever. We don't need to move on -- you need to move to a place where you realize that when you write stuff like tat only one thing happens:The people on this board just add you to their own personal lists of nutjobs who they ignore. That's what I just did anyway. HoosierCat
Dude, Spain. Seriously, relax. Oh, Spain is just poking the board with a stick...specifically one of those plastic drink stirs, I think......personally I find it kinda funny, but then again I'm easily amused. The "camel cummm" crack elsewhere was particularly good.As for all the anti-Pollack sentiment, hey, get with the program. Go read the Wheeler and Daughtery columns from a few days back. Didn't you know that all players and their agents are greedy cash ho's, and that the Bengals are a generous, caring and sensitive organization (as their long history and tradition of fair, equitable market-value deals demonstrates) that's just being held hostage by the devilish Pollack and his antichrist agents? Too many to comprehend. "Pollack wakes up", "Pollack takes a shower", "What if Pollack washes darks and lights together?", "What if Pollack (you fill in the blank)."Maybe it's just me. BengalBax
I am getting to the point that I could give a crap about David Pollack. He wants to hold out let him...I seriously doubt that WITHOUT him we won't have a fine season. Sure he helps, but if he isn't here, oh well. TippCityRick
According to Chick's article today in the Dayton Daily News, Katie had this to say . . .The only thing they've sent to us is (a proposal) that is superior to the deals ahead of us"Â Blackburn said of Pollack's agents. Now, if indeed that is true, then I do put this on DP and his agent. Everything I've read is that the impasse is over guaranteed money. The slot is set between Travis Johnson at 16 and Marcus Spears at 20 (18 & 19 aren't in). If they're asking for more than Johnson at 16, then that's on DP and his agent. Remember, nothing good comes out of having Tom Condon on the other side of the bargaining table. TippCityRick
OK, gotta add to my post. Big O had a good point in another thread. The Bengals keep saying they've got DP slotted at 9.5m, but Johnson at 16 is at 10.2m and Spears at 20 is at 9.3m, so DP's slot should be nearer 9.8-9.9m. Simple matter of escalators one would think . . . hell, I'm just frustrated with the whole lot of 'em. The team needs DP in so that he can be effective THIS YEAR, and DP needs to get in so that he can be effective THIS YEAR so that he can hit his escalators. Holdouts bug me for the simple fact that NOBODY WINS!!!!!!!!! I hope both sides are about winning in the most important arena . . . ON THE FIELD!!! The guy is going to be a starter, and he knows it. He's a first round draft pick, and he knows it. His career could be cut short, and he knows it. He wants the best possible contract he can get.We will be fine with Landon Johnson at SAM while Pollack gets ready to go. He'll be ready to go by week 2 at the latest, mark my words. He's that dedicated a player. Our franchise can take this, it can't take idiots like you for fans.

I'm just a simple football fan. I'm getting geeked up about the pre-season games starting in less than a week and preparing to spit at the tv and all the inevitable HOF Steve Young circle jerk. I was hoping for Pollack to be in camp day 1, but now that hasn't happened it's kinda on them to work it out. The season will be played and DP will play and I will root. As for the business of sports -- I just can't get up enough interest to care right now.

Kirkendall
Yea, but only a few updates once a day makes fans, such as us, chomping at the bit for any Bengals related topic (yes, contracts is football related because one, David Pollack, isn't in camp). Plus, it kills time at work.

We had a sports reporter in town a few years back that "threatened" to stay on a billboard downtown until the Bengals won their first game. He didn't come down until Ocotber.Remember it's just a game.....step away from the salad and keep your hands up.
