HoosierCat
bengals.com...When told he was wearing Takeo Spikes' No. 51, Thurman said, "I'm wearing my number."Day 1 and already loaded for bear. Think I'm gonna like this guy... :player:

Overrated...Hardly. the guy had a ridiculous season last year... i'd venture to say that Thurman and Pollock will never have a season like Spikes did last year. WillisXPress
I don't know about lewis and linebackers... I just know that in his two seasons with the Bills Spikes has played out of his mind:2 years:222 Tackles, 5 Sacks, 7 Ints, 2 TD's, 17 Pass Breakups, 4 Forced Fumbles, 3 Fumble recoveries. You new guys could be very good, but Spikes has set the bar pretty high.

walzav29
This is exactly what the defense needed. This guy is an A$$ stomper with an attitude. I also think Pollack will be impossible to keep off of the field. It will be Thurman, Pollack and Simmons with Johnson being the eventual replacement for Simmons. Johnson will be able to sub for all 3 spots. Superb!

Deja Vu, that funny feeling he bugged out on the Bengals as they settled on a QB and moved forward only to get back into the rebuilding year after year losing of the Bills. WillisXPress
Year after year losing?Surely you don't mean against the bengals?9-7 is a winning record last time a checked... You may have to look up winning record, I doubt you'll find much about that here.
HoosierCat
9-7 is a winning record Yup. Congrats. And in the AFC, a 9-7 record and $5 will get you a grande coffee to keep you warm in the stands in January as you watch other teams in the playoffs.I don't think Spikes left Cincy in order to go 9-7 and sit home again. He certainly didn't go there to be on a team that has gone 15-17 -- worse than Cincy! -- in his two years there. He thought he was getting out, away from a terminally screwed up organization that would never change and never win, away from incompetent coaching and mangement, away from endless annual QB controversies...away, in short, from the Bungles.Instead, he's found himself freezing in Buffalo, a team with its own front office follies, QB carosel, and a worse 2-year record than his old, despised, team. Now, maybe that all changes this season. Maybe the Bengals revert to their 90s form and the Bills finally win a Super Bowl. I think either possibility is remote, but we'lll see. However, the fact remains that his decision to leave hasn't paid off yet...
membengal
Dear lord, is it THAT time of year again already? Didn't we all get our immunization shots against Bill-fan-runneth-at-the-moutheth disease this time around?Enjoy your rookie QB and his growing pains Bills fans. We'll tell Takeo hi from the playoffs.
Stripes
I'd prefer both Buffalo and Cincy make the playoffs, and Cincy beats the crap outta the Bills in a wildcard game. I'd like to see Takeo's face after that irony. :player:
WillisXPress
This is great, we beat you guys the last.... I don't know how many times, and yet you still don't get it. Oh well, its gonna be nice ruining Christmas for you this year. See-ya in December. Sure, we don't deny that you've beat us recently. You can't deny that Losman will have his growing pains, and that will be a sever blow to your playoff hopes. Both teams have a good shot, but yours has a blaring weakness. WillisXPress
We have an unknown...losman could suck ass, but he could also be great...I imagine somewhere in the Middle. He won't be asked to do very much in the first half of the season, designed rollouts, play action, short passes with the occasional long ball....Our game is gonna be Willis, and he is gonna be even better than last year. And our D is going to be Number one in the league, after two years finishing at #2. We were missing Troy Vincent and lawyer Milloy for half the year... if they play all year, nobody is scoring on us. DontTakeAkili
Reason # 421 why I love football:Our rookie LB choses the jersey of a departed teammate, and all hell breaks loose on the message boards! You can tell it's almost game time from these posts. Guys around the nation (even in Buffalo) are starting to ooze pure testosterone. All is right in the world, especially in Bengal Nation. jrandom42
What ever happened to that great LT the Bills drafted 3 years ago with the #4 pick? The guy who was going to be 'the cornerstone of a great offensive line'? The same bozo who couldn't keep out of the coach's doghouse, play consistantly and lost his job to a free agent? Sure makes the Bengals pick of Levi Jones look a LOT better. Losman is probably going to take a pounding from the pass rush on the left side this year. However, the fact remains that his decision to leave hasn't paid off yet... I'd say Takeo got what was most important to him when he left. That being, a much higher profile. More appreciation for his individual play. The chance to brag about being a pro bowl player. He's a baddazz. Always was. But few people cared about that while he was in Cincy. So he left. And as a result I expect to see him get his ride pimped out on Unique Whips any moment.
