Bengalbob Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 Madieu, no doubt. This guy will be (is?) a star . . . Quote
Kazkal Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 In order for my top 51.)madieu williams-is just freaking awesome2.)Justin Smith-12+sacks and will continue to be our best D-linemen3.)Brian simmons-He's may be 8year olders but he still has the speed of a rookie4.)deltha oneil-I think will be our leader interceptions 4 wasen't to bad for all the play he missed5.)David Pollack I think will step up and have chance of Being D rookie of the year Quote
AMC Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 Madieu will make the first of many pro bowls this year....I also look for a big year out of Justin Smith and Geathers at the ends... Quote
Who? Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 I had to vote Williams, he was quite the player last year. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 Although voting for best defensive player on last years squad, is like voting for the shiniest turd, sure I'll play this silly game. You have to love what this kid did last year, even though he got burnt the F**K up early on. He really came on and become a force in the backfield. The rookies in general did very well, as the year went on. If we could get OT and DP in camp, I would hope for the same this year. The Shiniest Turd Award goes to:MADIEU WILLIAMSWHODEY !!! Quote
turnip Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 Madieu is a rising star, but I had to vote for our best player RIGHT NOW, and that is Simmons. He may be getting older, but he's not dead yet. Quote
CantStop85 Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Madieu is a rising star, but I had to vote for our best player RIGHT NOW, and that is Simmons. He may be getting older, but he's not dead yet. I have to agree with that. Based on 2004 Brian Simmons was our best defensive player. Madieu did some good things, but he also made a few rookie mistakes. Actually, strictly based on 2004 I would put Landon Johnson ahead of Madieu. Do you know how much better the defense (namely the run defense) got when Landon was inserted at MLB?Anyway, Brian Simmons was our most consistent defender last year. Madieu will be an all-pro soon. Rimington over Marino Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Not listed: Langston MooreActually thought the pass defense was suspect too. The best from last year may not be the best this year. I think maybe not even in top 5. Let us hope Geathers is near the top defensive player this year. If Pollack is second, defense will be awesome. If Thurman is in the top 3, we will be in great shape. Health is my major concern. Quote
jditty47 Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 exactly. as of TODAY, simmons is our best defensive player. period. Quote
BlainThePain Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 I say Williams, but Simmons is in a close second. I have a feeling Geathers might jump up past both of them this year. His name just stuck out to me from the moment we drafted him. Fanene did the same thing to me this year. Quote
Stripes Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 My vote goes to Madieu right now, but I have a strong feeling his 2nd round counterpart in Keiwan Ratliff will be right up there with him very soon. Brian Simmons is worthy of recognition of course, and I say those are the top three. Quote
CBin2k7 Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Brian Simmons edges out Madieu just because he has been doing it longer. Madieu did show alot last season, but I feel that Landon Johnson was vastly underrated for what he actually did for this defense and he will get his due in time. Quote
Kazkal Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Can't we just say their both freaking awesome because they are I hope simmons will be able to retire a bengal (getting abit ahead of myself I know thats 4+years away but I just coulden't handel him being in anything but stripes.....like a brown jersey ewwwwwwwwww Quote
Who? Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Simmons would look good in Brown and Orange, and our plain helmet, god I love it. Quote
