membengal
id pass a j around with DPM. Terry says hes good people so i says hes good people. ya i disagree with prolly 20% of the stuff he says, but he is alot more realistic on alot of issues than alot of ppl think. yes sometimes hes overdramatic and goes wayyy overboard, but sometimes he makes you think the flip side of the coin and put your thoughts into perspective. That's pandering to his BS too. Here is a newsflash, most folk here don't need some flamethrowing asshat to help them "put things into perspective"...there are plenty of ways to have discussion without that consistent butt-licking that he exhibits. Kazkal
"His stuff is old and everyone knows it."Not really I agree with some of his posts, like about chris perry where most bengal fans are ready to hang him because he rushed for 1 yard being injured the whole season. membengal
It is NOT anger. The point is, we have HAD that discussion. I think we can all agree we have had that discussion infinity plus one.1. Some say Perry will be great.2. Some say he will be awful. The great truth is no one knows yet. That's enough on that for now.Everything else is so much never-ending noise. The answer will start to come this fall. But, and this is the real point, the answer won't be found in another 16 games probably. It may even be into Perry's fourth year before we know. I happen to have great hopes for him, and think he is a huge key to this team's success this year as a 3rd down change of pace back. Course, I have said that all before, but because DPM continually stirs the pot, no one remembers what anyone says. The fact is Rudi Johnson is a damn good back. At this stage in his career, far better than any of us would have guessed ( I promise you that is true). Perry may yet be really good. No one knows. WHY can that state of affairs not be enough? Why the ceaseless never-ending yammering on this point? Just what the f**k is wrong with having extra talent at a position like running back? Why can't we all enjoy having extra weaponry back there? Is it because of DPM's unyeilding man-love for Dillon? Is it because the consistent yammering gets forum "ratings"? Is it because Big O and his god hate me? Who knows?
BengalszoneBilly
id pass a j around with DPM. C'mon jditty. Who wouldn't you pass a "j" around with? That's a damn short list there I think! Makes the board pretty crappy at times. And it gets old sifting through the same stuff.Just skip the post when you see his name on it. I do that most of the time anyway! I just give the ball a good spin on the old trackball/mouse, and before I know it, I'm past the post I don't wanna read! Works every time! DontPushMe
Read my posts about Perry. 90% of the time i post about him because someone else has dissed him for no reason in that thread. Just defending a player that fans like to stomp on for no reason. As for Dillon, i really dont post about him much anymore, only when its necessary, for example in that bengal HoFers thread the other day. Im not going out of my way to post about him now because posters here arent going out of their way to diss a bengal great. Some of you forget so easily how he was the only entertainment, talent, and respect with this team for 6 years. He didnt want to be splitting carries, he wanted to win now when he was still in his prime, how can you blame him for that? Even Willie Anderson has said that he understand why Dillon acted the way he did when leaving, he had to force a trade.Oh, and about the dillon av, ill probly be using a bengal one when the season rolls around, but for now im keeping this one up, because its him running during the super bowl. The Big Orange
Is it because Big O and his god hate me? Now, Now...my God doesn't hate you, Memby...he doesn't like you as much as Rimmington, but he doesn't hate you.And neither do I for that matter...I view this forum as a crazy family and I agree that Pushy's heavy petting of Corena and genital cuffs at the Rudester does bring down the zone euphoria from time to time, but there is room for that at the table. Most of us come here for assurances that our beloved Bengals (God's favorite team) are going to be swell. When we here something...anything... that says the opposite it's going to be a buzz kill.Pushy is working out his own issues of pessimism and doubt, but like many fans who have been kicked multiple times, they have trouble believing. But blessed is he who believes without first seeing (TBO paraphrase).
derekshank
DPM should be allowed to stay. I often disagree with him, but I'm used to hearing it (not living in Ohio), and am more annoyed by fans who are overly optimistic. They are kind of like morning people to me.Anyway... back on topic. On ESPN Game Night on Friday night, they were talking to the professor, Jon Clayton. He has been notoriously down on the Bengals, even this off season. But he said that after talking to Marvin Lewis, he has "drunk the Bengals Kool-aid." He said Marvin Lewis was so excited about Pollack and Thurman, and the he (Clayton) believed that Palmer would be much better, and therefore predicted 9-10 wins.Clayton is one of the names I really respect in football analysis, so this encourages me a lot more than some random guy who guesses us to go 12-4. I was guessing 10 wins, and I'm a Bengals homer, so now I feel I can leap up to 11 wins! Nah... I'll say 10.

Never thought of it quite like that, but I know exactly what you mean.
