walzav29
I think you can bet on Washington being gone this season, Warrick gone before next June, and Chad will be an off-season debacle holdout and will get traded. Drew Rosenhaus's style and Marvin Lewis's styles just aren't going to mix. If I'm not mistaken TJ has a different agent.
schweinhart
Rosenhaus may have 3 Bengals WRs but he's not holding any cards. Any stunt w/ K-Dub would be shrugged off and P-Dub playing w/o a contract for next year should gear him up to excel on the field this year if he's ever medically cleared.RHaus will have to wait til 2006 to sit at the table. He might have a pair of Dubs as UFAs by then and that won't be a major factor for Bengals in part because of this year's draft.Chad will be a ? for 2006. No doubt an ace-in-the-hole for RHaus and the only 1 of the 3 he gives a sh*t about because of the $$$ in his eyes.

The_Next_Big_Thing
It's a little early to be singing the Squirrels obituary. Remember, for receivers, the 3rd year is THE year. Lets HOPE he shows us what he's made of and we can get a good trade deal for him
walzav29
I have not checked the stats, but most of the time I recall if a receiver doesn't crack a 1000 by his 2nd year he is usually no better than average kind of guy.
bengal4life
Your crazy if you think ML will get rid of CJ. If he has another great season ML will definitely give CJ what he wants or I should say what his agent wants. CJ is the most calmest star receiver in the NFL. He's not a big talker like TO or Moss. I say if he wants more money give it to him, just tail most of it towards the end of his contract like Harrison and Moss. By that time we will have other star receivers to take his place. TJJackson
I'd say the Colt's Harrison is the calmest star WR.....If indeed ML expects to lose CJ despite the fact that he is under contract due to Rosenhaus's meddling ala Terrel Owens, then by all means it was a great move to draft Chris Henry. Provides insurance against both KW and CJ.I hadn't thought of it in those terms before....
ShulaSteakhouse
Washington and Warrick will both be gone after this year more likely - but who's to say what will happen? Warrick won't be cheap, but if he is used sparingly the first half of the year he won't demand much on the market and the Bengals could restrict him.CJ is a team guy and if they don't go to the playoffs next year I in no way can see him holding out or demanding something - he's all about football and getting to a SuperBowl and being the best, I can see him honoring his contract in this case - what happens after '06 is anyone's guess. bengalboomer7
yep, Shula said it. That's why I've been so adamant about not getting rid of PW, cause if he's healthy enough he'll be playing for a contract and we all know how big of a motivator money can beThis message is brought to you without the use of the spellcheck button. ArmyBengal
I don't know about KA-Wash leaving or not and to tell you the truth, I can't say as I care one way or the other. If he can produce, great. If not, pack your crap. I do know he needs to scrap that gay dance he does after catching a TD and knock off the 1st down catch antics. I hope P-Dub plays with a chip on his shoulder and has a monster year, but must get cleared to make that happen. What if Chad does want more money ?? If he puts up the numbers, keeps having pro-bowl years, and leads us to the playoffs / Superbowl, he has then EARNED it and I say PAY HIM... Can't expect him to do what he does and take 30mil less than a lesser player. He plays the game the right way though by praising the organization, the players around him, and in general appears to be the model player. Hard to not want to work with a guy like that when it comes time to pay him.WHODEY !!!
derekshank
“My agent doesn’t run me, I run myself. He works for me,” said Johnson after the voluntary practice. “If there was ever any type of holdout going on, it would be going on right now with all the others going on ... (No.) 85 ain’t going nowhere. “I’m not sure,” said Johnson, when asked if he thinks he’s underpaid. “I would like everyone to look at the numbers and see for yourself and understand where I am and you make the assumption about whether I’m underpaid or not. Don’t leave it on me.” Sounds like Chad really is the man! I say we give him a raise next year just for doing things the right way!
TJJackson
..and the above info is fromhttp://www.bengals.com/press/news.asp?iCur...=0&news_id=2947always cite your source, folks....
derekshank
sorry... the same article had been quoted on another thread, so I didn't worry about it too much. I will be cautious to cite all my material from now on. I don't want to be accused of plagiarism. I'm sure Spain knows how brutal all the English and grammar police can be. I will use the citation checker from now on.
TJJackson
It ain't plagiarism that anyone is worried about, I mean heck, we aren't writing our doctoral thesis here, right? :-) its more about knowing the info is legit rather than someone typing some bulls**t like-----fake quote-----"It was revealed today that Chad Johnson, Madieu Williams, and Carson Palmer were all injured today in a freak car accident. None will be able to play for the bengals this upcoming NFL season. In other Bengal news, Marvin Lewis has been released from his coaching contract, and as a thank you to the former Hamilton County Commissioner who helped get the stadium tax issue to pass, Bob Bedinghaus has been named as the new head coach."-----fake quote-----and trying to pass it off as real. You weren't doing any such thing, but having a link so the reader can verify the quoted info is always IMHO a good idea :-)
bengal4life
I'm sorry TJJackson I like the forums you post, but don't ever talk like that even if it is a fake quote. I am a very superstitous person and don't like it when people say things when it is very possible it could happen.thanksI also agree with citing your quotes, but sometimes I can't always remember where I get my info. I mean I look at several websites a day for sometimes several hours and for me to go back and try to find where the quote came from is difficult. I will though only say what I read and put it in my own words and none of the info that I post is bulls@#t, guaranteed.

I usually do cite my sources, but it came off the Bengals homepage, which I check several times a day, and I just didn't think about it.I hope we can still be friends. andybren
-----fake quote-----...to play for the bengals this upcoming NFL season. -----fake quote----- Nobody would dare post fake quotes in this forum, 'cause then they'd be forced to use the spell check. On the topic, I think 5 years from now people will be talking about how ML's greatest attribute as a coach was his ability to build depth on his roster and his ability to balance cohesion and competition on the practice field. And don't think strong years from Henry and Warrick won't keep CJ from having second thoughts about a hold-out. Bringing in good, competitive players works on so many levels.
