He's got alot of learning to do and acclimate himself with thr pro game.. dont put so much emphsis on numbers as oppossed to him getting better each week.. Kazkal
Yup very excited to see pollack play,It's nice that he brings in new bengal fans just because we drafted him
Rimington over Marino
lots of talk about this boy. lots of excitement when Akili Smith was drafted too. lots of excitement over Wilkinson and Ki-Jana, too. Not trying to poo-poo your post. I feel he will be more like Tim Krumrie. I watched some tape of Georgia games. He is in view or near the play all over the field. Even when they ran away from him, he chased it down. I am still taking a wait and see approach.
membengal
I would just be happy if he could be as good as Joey Porter or Kevin Greene were in their Pittsburgh heydays.
HoosierCat
Well, the good news is that Pollack is replacing Kevin Hardy, who just wasn't cutting it any more. So even if Pollack struggles in adapting to NFL speed and learning his new position, it isn't like we'll see a big dropoff. That said, I think it almost certain that he will struggle, and walshfan is exactly right that it's not about numbers, it's about whether or not he improves from week to week. ArmyBengal
IMHO, as much as I love the Pollack pick, he will have to have time to adjust to the speed of the NFL game. This isn't college ball anymore, there are no more games where the talent drops off drastically from week to week based on who you are playing. That being said, the week to week progression as already stated is what to look for and I believe he will still be more than solid replacing Hardy.WHODEY !!! The_Next_Big_Thing
If Madieu Williams can adapt to playing at both safety positions and corner positions, and do a decent job at all of them, Pollack can be rookie of the year.
ShulaSteakhouse
120 tackles and 12 sacks as an OLB? Highly doubtful he'll ever do that in his career.Effective and an upgrade to Hardy with a knack for making a big play or two? More likely. Some up's and down's as a rookie who gets burned at times and makes mistakes? Even more likely early on.

Do me a favor, when Pollack doesn't meet your unrealistic expectations don't start complaining that he's pretty good but not nearly as good as advertised. Frankly, I get pretty tired of that stuff. bengalboy40
If Madieu Williams can adapt to playing at both safety positions and corner positions, and do a decent job at all of them, Pollack can be rookie of the year. yup yup...reasons why pollack could actually post numbers like 120/12-he's a maniac, with incredible desire to be where the ball is...he's highly intelligent, wanting to learn and be as good as he can be...he played de as a three-time all-american, therefore he knows how to attack the qb...with the emergence of landon johnson, the, er, consistency of simmons and the improved pass-rush (assuming that happens, as it should), along with a healthy herring playin the line at times, pollack will not be the focus of protection suits...marvin has seen the full rookie camp and GLOWS when he talks about pollack, and i trust marvin...who-dey!120/12 is steep, and i ain't sure pollack will be the "best player in the nfl", but i love the guy. from the film, to the interviews, to the sly smile marvin has when he talks about him...he is one of the few guys i don't think will have a huge learning curve...but, let's wait and see....who-DEY!
