ArmyBengal
Bengals | L. Johnson Injury Update - 26 Feb 2005Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals LB Landon Johnson (shoulder) has undergone shoulder surgery and has yet to be cleared to participate in offseason workouts later this year. Head coach Marvin Lewis expressed uncertainty on when Johnson would be able to return.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bengals | Concerned with Webster's Rehab - 26 Feb 2005Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports the Cincinnati Bengals have expressed concern over the rehabilitation of LB Nate Webster (knee), who suffered a season-ending knee injury early last season. "He's not healthy right now," Lewis said. "Until he's back 100 percent, we're concerned."I don't know about you, but the thought of the possibility of both of these guys being hurt does not bode well for our running game. Maybe we didn't bode anyway, but just food for thought. IMHO, this HAS to be a HUGE concern for ML and if not addressed, another 8-8 at best coming our way.WHODEY !!! jjakq27
Will we be taking a LB at 17?
shworge
This is why Kevin Hardy hasn't been cut yet, if our LB core was completely healthy (Webster and Abdullah on IR, plus Landon coming off shoulder surgery) then he would already be gone. As it stands right now, without Hardy we wouldn't have enough LB's to practice effectively in spring mini-camps.
BengalNation1281
Well I think that this would be a good reason to look into a LB at 17. We could fill our needs on the D-line in rounds 2-4 (with a C somewhere in there), but with so many LBs hurt I wouldn't mind snagging one in the first.I wouldn't have minded it even without the injuries, but it looks like the need might be pressing. If only Derrick Johnson made it to #17...oh...oh God... :player: :player: :player: :player:
HoosierCat
There's no question that MLB remains a concern. And Hardy isn't the answer, he's shown that. The Jets may let Sam Cowart go; dump Hardy, sign Sam.
DontPushMe
If only Derrick Johnson made it to #17...oh...oh God... :player: :player: :player: :player: He probly will, and i think theres a good chance if he is there at 17, we dont pick him. IMO his value is mid-late 1st round. He will probly go higher because of reputation, and this being a weak draft class, but i wouldnt consider him a good pick before 20. I said this last year about Steven Jackson and no one believed me, but i was right there.
BengalNation1281
DPM, what is your thing with Jackson? Did he not sign an autograph for you or something? He is one of the more promising young RBs in the NFL, and you have some vendetta against him that I don't understand. Or were you just stating that he wasn't a good pick before #20 last year? Because if memory serves me correctly, there weren't really any teams in the top 20 last year who had a pressing need at RB.And I haven't seen any reports or projections that don't have Johnson rated as the best LB in the draft or have him going lower than 15th, so I don't understand how you see him not getting taken until the late-1st. If Johnson is there at 17, I think he'll be a Bengal, but that's just me.
ArmyBengal
There is NO way Johnson falls out of the top 10 IMO. We would have to trade up to get him. If he does fall, there is NO WAY IN HELL he gets by the Saints sitting at #16. That being said, who else do you all like at LB ??WHODEY !!! CTBengalsFan
Will we be taking a LB at 17? I think we should take Channing Crowder out of Florida. Dude wrestles wild boars in his free time... you need your MLB to do s**t like that.
shworge
Yeah, I am a big Channing Crowder fan, if the Bengals are comfortable with him medically I think he is the most talented LB in the draft behind Derrick Johnson.
HoosierCat
Crowder was a popular pick for the bengals in a lot of mocks earlier in the year, seems to have faded some. He has some off-field issues, fights with the cops, something like that, but we could do worse, IMHO.

What i saw in Jackson was an average starter at best, personally i wouldnt of drafted him last year untill the 2nd round if it was my team, i would of drafted either jones, perry, or bell before him. And sure he had good stats this year, but if you watched his games, he wasnt impressive at all. He looks slow, upright, and his large runs all game with big holes to run through. And there were no teams above 24 that needed RB? Could of fooled me, Raiders, Cardnals, Lions, Eagles, Cowboys, Bucs, Broncos all had picks before 24 and needed RB. They simply didnt want jackson. As for Johnson, you misread my post. I said that I wouldnt take him before the late 1st round. I expect him to be picked somewhere in the mid first based on his reputation/hype and it being a weak draft class. walshfan
Remember this name: Alfred Fincher MLB- he could be taken in later roundsand turn into a reliablle MLB... Allot of scouts are high on him.. Nothing spectacular just reliable MLB.....

Allot of scouts are high on him.. Nothing spectacular just reliable MLB..... WOW. Someone knows who Alfred Fincher is.Alfred Fincher went to UConn (aka the University I attend). I watched him all year, and the man is a beast. He had huge games in all of UConn's big games (17 tackles against Pitt, 21 tackles against WVU). Definitely a low profile guy that I thought all year could make an impact in the NFL.
