bengalboomer7
Just saw an interesting tidbit on ESPN. If we don't sign TJ our top three recievers will have the same agent and appparantly that agent (Peter Schaffer) is going to try to get a bigger deal for CJ even though he's signed up for years. I'd like to know how's he going to convinve Mikey to shell out more bucks on a player that is already under contract for awhile!
ShulaSteakhouse
When or where did he say that he would try to re-structure Chad's deal? He's not going to do that. I believe he just pointed out that Chad's getting less than he could be because of other recent deals. CJ should be one of the top 2 or 3 paid WR's in the league - not sure if he is or not - but I don't think he is now. Oh well his bad, hehe. Gotta love someone gullable enough to take an early deal from the tight-a$$ Bengals.
jakbo
I know that players can restructure their contracts to benefit the team, however, it's very unusual that a player and team would restructure a contract to benefit the player. I don't think it will happen.
shworge
Chad told the Dayton Daily news last week that he isn't looking for a new contract and he only hired Rosenhaus to increase his off the field exposure. He said he not only wants to do this for himself but to promote the stripes (he said "it's all about the stripes.")
BengalsOwn
Players hold out for new contracts, I hope Chad isn't the next to do so.
slf
Players hold out for new contracts, I hope Chad isn't the next to do so.holdouts don't sign a lot of endorsement contracts, sponsors want stability (to get retrun on their investment) CJ can up his income off the field, hence, new agent
LesterLyles
There is rumour from one poster on a Jets board that Bengals are willing to shop Chad around. Its one guy's rumour w/ about 10 Jets fans eiether telling him he's nuts or proposing potential compensation (Moss, Abe, draft picks etc etc). Any truth to this? The rumours these days are ridiculous.
shworge
Absolutely no truth whatsoever, in any way shape or form, under any circumstances... I'm not sure how much more clear I can be.
BengalNation1281
What in the crap???If anyone buys into the fact that the Bengals are shopping Chad around the league, they need to be shot. He's the franchise WR, who has a nice contract, who will be a top priority when it is time to negotiate again, who loves this team and is proud to be the "face" of the Bengals, who is one of the top 10 WRs in the NFL right now...I had not heard any rumors of that sort, but if I had I would have laughed so hard I probably would have wet my pants. That is the dumbest thing I've heard all day.

Echo this and the above.Could not be further from the truth. Fanciful. Wouldn't even happen on Madden 2005.
