turningpoint
yeah me 2... anyways... here's a better link and hell the story...http://www.bengals.com/press/news.asp?iCur...=0&news_id=2767Agent: Warrick 'never felt better'2/24/2005 - 4:25 p.m. BY GEOFF HOBSON Warrick: Ready for workouts (Bengals photo) INDIANAPOLIS - Bengals wide receiver Peter Warrick is expected to be 100 percent when offseason workouts begin in about a month and middle linebacker Nate Webster should be ready for training camp even if he can’t be ready by the spring. That’s the way agent Drew Rosenhaus sized up his clients’ status here Thursday at the NFL scouting combine. The Miami-based Rosenhaus, one of the NFL’s leading agents, has added a Bengals passing package to his portfolio this offseason. Along with Warrick, he has picked up wide receivers Chad Johnson and Kelley Washington in what could have an impact down the road. Warrick, who turns 28 in June, has been under a cloud of doubt ever since he went on injured reserve last year after playing in just four games with a sore knee and a broken fibula. Although Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis has indicated he hasn’t always been enamored with Warrick’s rehab, he has insisted that Warrick’s injuries shouldn’t lead to a permanent deterioration of his skills. Rosenhaus has no reason to think so, either, and says his client has been cleared by Dr. James Andrews. “He says he never felt better,” Rosenhaus said. “I was just with him and I think he’s doing great. He’s working very hard at his rehabbing, he’s 100 percent, and he’s put all of the injuries from last year behind him. He doesn’t need surgery. He’s all done. He’s technically and structurally sound.” Warrick is due $2.2 million in 2005, the last year of his contract, and Rosenhaus said he has approached Lewis and director of business development Troy Blackburn about the future. He says he’s not looking at the current negotiations with wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh. “We’re going to have a dialogue,” Rosenhaus said. Webster Rosenhaus indicated that Webster isn’t as far along as Warrick after missing the last 13 games of the season with a torn patella tendon in his knee. But he’s optimistic that Webster is going to be ready for Georgetown College. “I don’t know about the spring,” Rosenhaus said. “He’ll be ready for training camp.” Rosenhaus calls Johnson “one of the league’s premier players,” and wouldn’t comment when asked if he’s happy with Johnson’s current deal, a five-year extension up in 2008 that is worth about $26 million. Similar deals have been reached since by Miami’s Chris Chambers (five years, $30 million) and Carolina’s Steve Smith (six years, $26 million), but the Colts’ Marvin Harrison blew everybody out of the water recently with a seven-year, $67 million deal. schweinhart
Watched the NFL Network game of the week a couple days ago--last year's season opener Bengals vs. Jets. And came to conclusion that P-Dub is a bad a$$ whose day is due bigtime w/ Carson throwing darts, say 90 catches, 1,000 yds, 10 Tds.
turningpoint
i'd like to think he can do better then 9yds a catch.I see him getting 76balls, 1056yds, 10tds. about 13.9yds a catch.random guess.
DontPushMe
wait though, he was injured last year, doesnt that make him a bust? i thought it was impossible for players to recover from injurys that cost them a season, hmm thats weird

HoosierCat
His agent says he's just peachy? Well, that's a surprise, isn't it? I hope PW's fine, but I'm waiting to see how he looks in camp.

Produce one season and you'll never be a "bust." You may decline to "so-so' though. All in all I'm happy with the Bengals recieving corps the way it stands right now. Wheather or not it stands pat remains to be seen.

BengalNation1281
Rosenhaus saying that P-Dub is at 100% and is ready to go is as useless as having my mother come on here and tell all of you how handsome I am. That's what Warrick pays him for...positive spin.
schweinhart
Naw P-Dub should get the benefit of the doubt here. This is a dude who got scoped one week then was back out in the field the next week w/ playoffs on the line in 2003. Plus he was out running around w/ a stress fracture in his leg last year before he finally sat out for good.No reason to believe his injuries are bigger than his desire to play at this point. All the Bengals need out of him is to suck it up and go and he'll have a career year w/ Palmer's accuracy.

That's what Warrick pays him for...positive spin.My friend said this to - my response is what benefit does it serve Rosenhaus or Warrick to make these comments right now? Really at this point it's not like he's up for a new contract and it actually will make him look much worse if Warrick really isn't 100%. Sure he's going into the last year of a contract and will need to play - but if he's actually still hurt - he won't and it will be pretty obvious once the coaches start holding him out again. I just don't see that happening. All this degenerative knee, arthritis stuff is hogwash if you ask me - I remember years ago Dillon having a "degenerative knee condition that would never go away" yet no one's mentioned that for the last 5-6 years and the guy's probably headed to Canton. If you ask me Warrick got injured early on last year, tried to play through it, and just made it worse until they finally had to force him out for the year. I think he also wanted to be on MNF as he may never get another shot to do so in his career and wanted to be active for that game and get some time - a bit selfish but that's the only reason I can think of.If they can transplant hamstrings and tendons to repair shoulders and knees then Warrick's "soreness" surely is not beyond the realm of modern medical technology.I fully expect he'll be in mini-camps and trainng camp at 100% as he says. I can think of a number of reasons, chief among them to stir up interest in a trade. Frees up a big chunk of cap space for the Bengals -- which they could use to resign TJ -- and may be a more attractive option for teams looking for a wideout (there are lots) then getting into a bidding war over a Houshmanzedeh or Kevin Johnson.Another possible reason: look where the story originated. Gee, why would the Bengals want Peter Warrick pumped up right now?Yet another possible reason: Rosenhaus is fishing for that extension some here have mentioned. If indeed TJ does walk, that would be a smart move on the Bengals' part (assuming, again, he really is at 100%) since he's only going to be more expensive to resign after next season. bengalsfan33
We're really going to need a healthy Warrick next season with Housh most likely gone. It also looks like he's going to win his #2 receiver slot back as hoped. So, I can't wait to see how good our passing game is with P-Dubb, CJ, and whoever the other guy is that we bring in! Its all random when you get injured, its not like he planned on getting injured this year. TJ recovered from a season ending injury, so did Warrick, i dont see why Perry, a younger player then the other 2, couldnt do the same.Dillon > Perry > Rudi Johnson
BengalsOwn
Maybe his agent is feeding us this bulls**t in the fear that Warrick may be cut, and he wants to get a message out to everyone that he is healthy so that he can be signed elsewhere. And arthritis in his knee is no joke. Marvin Lewis himself has even said something about it, and said that Peter's just going to have to learn to play with the pain. If anyone knows how to get rid of arthritis, let me know. Some of you think that with therapy it will go away. I went to therapy for 6 months straight, I'd love if I could end the arthritis I deal with everyday, and I'm only 21 years old. It happens sometimes, mine was due to a broken and sliced and infected hand and wrist and shoulder. It doesn't feel any better almost 4 years later, I can tell you that much.
