Barbarian
Here is a few signs that your team may have to step it up a few notches to get into the playoffs:1. Kelly Holcomb's (who?!?!?!?!??!?!?!) numbers for the day: 30 for 39, 413 yards, 5 TDs, 2 INTs. Kelly "Turnover" Holcomb???????? You've got to be kidding me?????? I thought that Secondary was showing signs of improvement??????2. Some NOBODY named Steve Heiden gouges your defense--7 catches for 82 yards, 3 TDs3. Another NOBODY named Antonio Bryant has 8 receptions (8?????) for 131, 2 TDs!!!!!!!!!!!!4. Be lucky that the Offensive Coordinator for the Terds wasn't paying attention: William Green's ypc was 5.0. He could have really gone off for the Terds today.5. 462 yards that the Defense gave up to an offense that isn't known for moving the ball. Yikes!!!!6. Carson throws picks at inopportune times. It could have really cost them the game. I can excuse this because Carson is a 1st year player that shouldn't be put in the kind of situations to win the game. I'll point the finger in Drunkowski's way on this matter.7. Rudi's numbers for the day--26 carries for 202 yards, 2 TDs, thanks to Bob Drunkowksi should have really been 42 carries for 302 yards, 3 TDs. That probably would have made the scoring go way down and gave the Bungles a more defined TOP--than just 31:26 to 28:34. The Bungles would have crushed the Browns something like 48-21. It wouldn't have been close. The Bungles could have controlled that game with ease. Which leads us to.....8. (Probably the most important here) Bob Drunkowski's play selection is still terrible. With the lead, why didn't he continue to pound Rudi instead of passing the f**king ball??? True, the Bungles won--however, it shouldn't have been the nail-bitter that it was. Here are some questions:A. Why was this game reminiscence of a WAC-Conference Game--aka DEFENSE ANYONE????? WHERE IN THE NAME OF GOD WAS THE DEFENSE??????B. Why does Drunkowski continue to pass Carson for big numbers instead of running the damned ball??? Carson's numbers wouldn't have suffered so much today if that was the friggin' case.C. Why is Drunkowski still the offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bungles????D. Why do the Bungles have problems against the Browns' Passing Game??? The receivers don't have any kind of separation and the QB was the backup. Just imagine if Gaycia played today???? The numbers could have been wayyyy different.E. Was either Offensive Coordinator paying any kind of attention today????? Pothead2's ypc was a 5.0 and Rudi's was a 7.8. Don't these guys deserve more than 15 and 26 carries respectively???????????????????? Yeah, I would think so too.So, congratulations to the Bungles for their 1st and probably last Divisional Win. It's about f**king time!!! They SHOULD HAVE BEATEN THE Turds with all those injuries. With Gaycia out, this should have been an absolutely beating. Instead, it was a Toilet Bowl, with neither teams defenses showing up. It looked like Fresno State playing Utah State in a 58-48 thriller--which shouldn't have been the case.If that same defense shows up for the next 4 weeks, then expect 4 L's. schweinhart
Agreed on all pts.Except for Bryant. Just because he wouldn't jerk off Parcells don't make him a bad WR. Him for Morgan is a trade you make any day of week.
WhoDey42
8. (Probably the most important here) Bob Drunkowski's play selection is still terrible. With the lead, why didn't he continue to pound Rudi instead of passing the f**king ball??? True, the Bungles won--however, it shouldn't have been the nail-bitter that it was.We were never up by more than 2 touchdowns. If you ask me, thats not enough of a lead to start playin conservative and running the ball more than we did. I think we had a good balance of passing and rushing. We had success throwing the ball so why not continue it with a good amount of rushing mixed in. We had 32 rushing plays and 29 passing plays. WhoDey42
And one more thing.... no one is saying we dominated and that we proved we're gonna win them all. It was a hard fought game...and we won. It wasn't pretty, we have A LOT to work on, but we won.
ShulaSteakhouse
Yeah how many more attempts can you expect a guy to take? 32 is plenty. There was one drive with the INT early where I wondered why they kept throwing it, but other than that, I thought the offense - and their 51 points, did just fine. The defense gives up 48 points and the majority of the original post is complaining about the play calling. I don't get it.

AKA:26 for 202 yards, 7.8 ypc, 2 TDsSHOULD HAVE REALLY BEEN:42 carries for 302 yards, 5.6 ypc, 3 or 4 TDs.It's idiotic to have a balance offense, when you don't need to. The Bungles should have run the damned ball down the Turds' Defensive Throats all day. It would have been demoralizing and the Bungles would have won handedly. It would have been a big win instead of making your ass sit at the edge of your seat all game long. The Browns should have been leading at one point of the game--after the 1st INT. Then the score should have been lopsided from then on--in favor of the Bungles. kevnz
Barb, how is it that you bitch and moan more when the Bengals win than when they lose? Yeah, the D gave up a s**t load of points, and yeah green had a good yards per carry average, but that's only because he had one good run. As for the playoffs? Are you nuts? hell if the team had managed to go 11-5 it might not have been enough to make the playoffs this year, hell even if they win out and do go 10-6 they'd be sitting at home just like a few other 10-6 AFC teams. But can you ever just be a little less annoying when the team wins?
WhoDey42
But we weren't dominating them all day... we were beating them most of the time, but they were still in it. Why would we get conservative and be satisfied with a 10 or 14 point lead then punt it away more often and give it back to them and have our defense give up another touchdown. turningpoint
Just curious Barbarian....Who did you expect the bengals to game plan on D for Kelly Holcomb? go sneak into there practice, because they sure as hell don't have any game tapes. kevnz
Barb, did you pick the under on the Bengals this week or something? How is running the ball more any more demoralizing than throwing on them? Hell the one time the Bengals went into Ball Control Mode Rudi got stuffed twice and the ended up with a 3rd and way long and had to eventually punt. When the D was giving up everything thrown at them the O had to keep on the throttle. I mean they only punted once in the second half. How the hell could they have throttled back, when Rudi ran he, ran for big yards so it's not like they could do the whole 3 yards and a cloud of dust thing. All hail Barbarian! We beat the Clowns! I don't know about you barb but it'll be nice to shut all the Clowns fans up for a while. Whenever we beat them, my week is gonna be great. Kev--I'll say it one more time for the cheap seats, ok:26 FOR 202. It should have been 42 for 302. Rudi should have that rushing record today--and the Bungles should have controlled the clock for 40 stinking minutes. If Drunkowski runs the ball more, then the Bungles beat the s**t outta the Turds.BTW, have you ever played Defensive line????? I'll bet not. If you can run against a defense, you can tired out the front 7 even more. You demoralize them by making them tired.I just don't get these f**king offensive coordinators today that always want to pass the damned ball. Keep the ball on the ground unless absolutely necessary. You guys must not have been taught the basics of football or something.

Barb, if you look back in the game thread you'll see I said the exact same thing about Rudi and the record. However that was before the Defense decided to take the second half off. Also, the team did run more than they passed for. Yes, I think the team should have ran more, but I don't think the team should abandon the pass when it's working. Otherwise the other team stuffs the line and Rudi get's stuffed...Oh wait, that happened....
WHO DEY AGAIN?
Why is it when the Bengals win some turds have to get on here and act like they lost? I know it's only the Browns but if your going to bitch do it when they lose and don't rip the O rip the D. Some poeple are just babbling idiots that like to see how many posts they can get. BengalszoneBilly
I'll take the win, just as I'll take ANY win! But honestly...how can anyone here be satisfied with scoring 58 points in a game, and only eeking out a win late in the 4th quarter! What does it take to get the offense AND the defense to show up for the same game!?! This is some crazy s**t, don't you think?

The_Next_Big_Thing
Kelly Holcomb, for the Barbariodiot, unseated Couch last year and threw 10 TD passes off the bench in 8 starts. He's a good QB. The TEs for cleveland found a problem in our defense and exploited it all day long. The good news is, we get this week to correct it before facing Heap (if he's finally ready).THE NFL RECORD FOR MOST CARRIES IN A GAME IS 45. I suppose you think we should have just run Rudi enough to break that record too? I'd rather see 26 attempts for 200 yards with 7.8 YPC than 42 for 300 at 5 YPC. Especially considering the run was used to set up the pass and the pass was used to set up the run. IT WAS A BALANCE ATTACK.Barbarian, get your head out of your ass and enjoy the win. He broke off two big ones which always help the YPC.Barb, along with Bax, look for s**t to complain about.

The reason people were on the edge of their seats was because Holcomb was throwing for 400 and 5 tds not because of the playcalling on offense. Late in the game when they had the lead they did try to run the clock and it resulted in runs of -1 and -3 which put us in 3rd and long. Punt. Their effective drives were a mix of run and pass-look it up.If there is 58 points on the board and the offense put up 51 of it then I think it would be safe to say that the Cleveland D is a little demoralized.
