HoosierCat
Memo from the "Just FYI" dep't:The last time the Bengals won by 23+ vs. a non-expansion team was week 15, 1997, 41-14 vs. the Oilers.Great job, fellas!
BengalszoneBilly
Great job, fellas! REALLY great job defense! Only giving up 3 points, no RB even CLOSE to 100 yards, responsible for the Bengals huge edge in the turnover ratio...they get my game ball. Especially after how I bad mouthed them before, (and will do so again) so my props go specifically to them now!

But the D played awesome, too...O'Neal, James, Madieu, and how 'bout Jumpy Jr.!!! Where have y'all been since August?

HoosierCat
matt gets the game ball? um 1 play doesnt make it. The entire defense gets the game ball. Hey, no doubt the D did an awesome job. But sometimes one play is all it takes (haven't we gotten torched multiple times this year by the big play?). Even with the D playing so well, it was still a close game at that point. Schobel's TD opened the door to the rout, and to the whole team's credit they set a new record going through that door. Just as in the Denver game, they knocked the other guy down, and they didn't let them get back up. I give my game ball to Matt but frankly this was a big team win. Let's hope it's the first of many. kevnz
JoiseyCat I think Matt deserves the Offense game ball, Graham deserves it for special teams, and honestly, the whole D deserves a game ball when you stonewall a team like they did. Really who on D get's it? Tory James with his NFL leading pick and forced fumble, Deltha or Madieu for their picks? Maybe Geathers for his sack, forced fumble and tipped pass? Damn what a defensive performance.
jditty47
carson offensive game ball. a game ball means an entire game, what did schobel do for us besides 1 play? carson made the pass btw.
schweinhart
Don't forget to give a gameball to Mike Brown, especially with a win over an A-hole owner like Jerry Jones and his fine Iowa State squad

The Brew Man
Hey, I was there too!Seriously though, these guys just play different at home. If they could translate that into a road game, anything could happen. The offense frustrated me to no end though yesterday still. All the dink and dump passes made me lose my voice screaming.... Only giving up 3 points, no RB even CLOSE to 100 yards, responsible for the Bengals huge edge in the turnover ratio...they get my game ball. Especially after how I bad mouthed them before, (and will do so again) so my props go specifically to them now! Hold on a sec--lemme explain this one:It's an easy win--when Santa Inceptaverde comes to town to give all the Bungle Kids joy and 4 Early Christmas Presents. If you don't like it--see the Miami Game. It's like deja vu here, guys.No Running Game--all those turnovers???????? The Opposing Team Offense can't get but 3 points on your terrible defense????I'm thinking that if the Bungles were ANY DAMNED BETTER, THE GAME SHOULD HAVE BEEN 50-3.That should have been a killing down at PBS. Instead, the Bungles were kicking field goals. It's just a damned shame.
skyline
That should have been a killing down at PBS. Instead, the Bungles were kicking field goals. It's just a damned shame. Uhhh, yeah. Just kicking field goals. And a 76 yard TD pass. And a qb sneak on the end of a dominating drive. I never thought I'd see the day when the Bengals were criticized for only winning by 23 points

Yes, he did kick a lot of field goals. We also scored two TDs. You seem to keep forgetting that.In general, yes...the TD # needs to go up. It's a work in progress.Fact of the matter is, though, that you are complaining about a 23 point win!!! Get over yourself, and enjoy it for a change... Like I stated before, that game should have been 50-3.
schweinhart
I agree with the Barbarian. This game should have been 50-3 and it was in many ways more frustrating to watch the Bengals debacle on O in this win than it was to watch the losses.Yes, a win is good. But at this point in season w/ the way Steelers and Jets started 1st half, the value of Bengals wins and losses is less significant because they will have to run the table to be have a realistic chance at post-season.I want to watch the Bengals get their offensive sh#t together to the point that the O not only takes games down to the wire but wins the close ones. And when the Bengals have the chance to drive stakes through the hearts of teams, I want to expect they can do it effortlessly. Scottishbengal
As much as I'm over the moon with the victory, and the fact that some players have stepped up in certain areas, I concur with Barbarian that the scoreline should really have been higher. How many points did we score from the turnovers? We're doing the first part right by forcing the turnovers, now we need to punish teams and bury them when we come up with the ball.I can't remember exactly the the final stats, but I think at one point we'd made one or two FG's from 3 turnovers. We need to be more ruthless. That said, the baby can crawl, it's now learning to walk, won't be long before it's running!WHODEY
HoosierCat
So excuse me for not being satisfied with that s**t. Like I stated before, that game should have been 50-3. Should have been? Yeah, it should have. Without Warrick this team has struggled to reach the end zone all year, tho I was encouraged by the increased focus on the short passing game utilizing the TEs and RBs last week. That should pay dividends in the red zone down the road. As Skyline says, it's a work in progress. As for the D, yeah, Vinny is known as Interceptaverde for a reason. But let's not forget how the D was dropping easy picks the first couple games. They're getting better.
